Good morning, my friends. Yesterday was a day of things getting between me and my sewing. As much as the day tried to keep me fabric free, I was able to get in a little bit of slow-stitching and a successful FART (Fabric Aquisition Road Trip). It was a day for physical therapy. I was in need of a couple of fabrics for different projects, and so I sweetened the bitter trip to PT with a trip to the fabric store.
Before I needed to leave, I took the first stitches on October's block for a year in the garden. Mainly, I was using up bits and bobs of floss from the last time I worked on this.
I'll use the butterfly print in the larger squares. I'll use the begonia print in the smaller squares. I'll use black where it appears in the picture, and I'll use that green wherever the light blue appears. When there's another opening on my WIPs dance card, I'll start this project.
Okay, and as much as I love whining and complaining, I'm afraid I'll have to admit that I think the PT is helping. I've noticed more strength and stability in my shoulder, and it's easier to get comfortable to sleep at night. I have a whole new and more challenging set of exercises to do, and I'll keep doing them. It's easy to stay motivated when I think they're actually working.
When I got home, I did a little more stitching on my block. It looks like this now.
Tomorrow, I'm walking with Matthew. The forecast looks great for spending some time outdoors. Knowing I'll have an early start in the morning, I'm taking tomorrow off from blogging. I'll be back Saturday to tell you all about it.

I am so glad the PT is helping! You are inspiring me to start back on my lapsed PT homework, which is hard to keep up after the sessions end.
I like the new quilt design, and those fabrics. Have a nice walk and talk with Matthew. Dot in NC
It's always fun to take a day to go fabric shopping ❤️ Love the embroidery in your hoop :)
I think that's a great plan for those fabrics - will be fun to see this one take shape!
Barbara, always enjoy your posts and sense of humour.
Philip Jacobs is part of the Kaffe Fassett Collective currently. I always lump those fabrics together. But as a side note Philip discovered a huge fossil on the English coast in 2022. Thank you, Anonymous; that article was very interesting. Barbara, I love those fabric choices. Your eye did an amazing job.
I'm pleased the PT is helping and especially that you are getting better sleep. I love the planned fabrics for the quilt, it should look fabulous. Enjoy your walk with Matthew tomorrow. I think I'm walking with John tomorrow and the weather is forecast to be very good.
Your blog post title gave my heart a little nervous jump this morning. Good to know all is well. I like what you found at the Quilt shop. And that inspirational quilt looks fun to make too!
So glad the PT is working. It's a bit astounding that PT which requires multiple visits, is cheaper than doing a single MRI or CT scan. Your fabric acquisition trip was very successful. I love that butterfly print you have picked for your next project. So glad you are feeling better.
I'm happy to hear that you think the PT is being helpful. Let's hope it continues and gets nothing but better.
Ooooh - those flutter-byes are so beautiful and will work so well in the quilt you have planned!
