Good morning, my friends. I'm writing fast this morning. In a little while, I'm heading out to get a badly-needed haircut and to run some errands in town. I'm happy to start today's post announcing the Fantastic Felines are finished. This quilt will be donated to an organization known as Leave It for the Pooch, and it will be included in a fund-raising auction sometime in June.
Here’s how it looks from the back. It ends up at 60 x 60 inches.
Wanna know how much kitty help was offered?
Yeah…the whole notion of these being “fantastic felines” bored them to sleep.
Mainly, though, they were just tired after spending the morning chasing this guy. He’s too large for them to do any damage, but he keeps them occupied.
Also, I finished Block 6 for Le Jardin. I knew I was close, but I didn’t expect to have it finished just yet.
These are all the blocks I have for this quilt so far. Probably I’m going to need to change a few of these. Some of them are supposed to have red cornerstones like the one in the upper left.
And that meant I needed to trace out the next one. This is the Cozy Quilt stitchery.
Colors were listed with the pattern. I’m using whatever I have from my stash. These are all the colors that will be used.
And that was all the sewing I did yesterday.
It’s going to be a busy run-around day, and so I’ll take tomorrow off from blogging. If there’s time for any sewing today (doubtful), I’ll get going on the Nordic Star table runner. Just now, I’m going to eat some breakfast. If I hurry, I might have a little time for some slow stitching. We’re expecting rain for the next few days. It’ll be good sewing weather. How is spring treating you so far?

I think Smitty and Sadie might have been bored with Fantastic Felines, simply because they couldn't see themselves in this sweet quilt???? But I bet they will be thrilled when they hear how much money it helps to raise for pets living in Animal Shelters. Enjoy your fresh new haircut. I have 10 days before I get mine and I'm feeling the need right now.
The feline quilt came out great, and I'm sure it will raise some money for that organization. Poor exhausted kitties!! Love that little quilt embroidery piece that is next to stitch. So cute!
Fantastic Felines came out beautifully--but they don't hold a candle to your two kitties hahaha...seriously a great finish...
The stitcheries are looking super together, too...
I am about to go out and turn over my Winter Rye planted in our little raised garden box on our porch and scoping out what to plant this year...I do miss my big, in-the-ground- garden, but hoping to add some flower containers too this year...
I quilted 8 more lines this morning--maybe 8 more to go...then
Finito, baby!! ;))) Hugs, Julierose
What a beautiful quilt you made to donate - very generous of you! I hope it raises lots of money!
Loving your embroidery blocks!
Looks fantastic.,You might have had it listed where you bought the pattern from, but can't find it. In "Need" of another hand embroidery project. I also wrote on your note area of your blog. The quilt you made for donation, is amazing. Love your schedule, you get things done far faster then I do. Going to 3 day retreat at the Santa Fe Casino, about 5 miles from our house in Vegas. It is annual.and great fun. Gals from all over the state and Ca.attend the 3 days. Sometimes it is twice a year. Love the close by retreat. and my friend from CA will attend with me. About 80 ladies. Enjoy your blog, Vivian
Love your quilt that you are donating. Amazing and so perfect. Some lucky person will love to win it. I have to make another dolly quilt for grans that are old enough to fight over the one I made for the first Gran. Sharing is not in a 2 year old vocabulary. Enjoy your day. Vivian
Fantastic Felines is so cute!
Congrats on finishing off Fantastic Felines. It's such a cute quilt, it should do well at the auction. Hope you got all your errands run and still had a bit of time to play with needle and thread.
Our weather is so conflicted - warm/hot one day, cold and rainy the next. It's difficult to know how to dress when going out. Best to stay in and sew!
I'm sure the Leave It organization is going to be really happy when they see your donation. Hopefully it raises lots of money for them.
