A Good Start

Good morning, my friends. It was a busy day yesterday. All the items on my to-do list were checked off. I've been working at procrastinating less. You might say I'm procrastinating on my procrastination. It feels good to have everything finished at the end of the day, but it cuts into my sewing time. Nevertheless, I started my "Motion" project yesterday, and I was able to get farther along than expected. I was so involved in the process that I neglected to take any pictures until the end of the day. Here's your peek:

Oooh! Colorful! Any guesses about what it might be?

The only other sewing accomplished yesterday was a little more progress on My Embroidered Garden. I expect it'll still be a couple of days before I've finished the stitching.

Last night's dinner was this new recipe for Rice Noodles with Egg Drop Gravy. It was tasty, but I'll warn you...it's a five-star mess to clean up afterward. For that reason only, I probably won't make it again.

If I were going to make it again, I'd get a regular sized bok choy and slice it into 1/2-inch slices. With the cooking method described, I needed to put a lid on my cast iron skillet in order to adequately cook the baby bok choy pictured here. Except for that, I'd make it just the same as described in the recipe. I've shared a link to the recipe above. Try it if you don't mind cleaning up afterward. I happen to have a resident engineer with a side hustle of after-dinner kitchen duty. It was he who suggested not making it again. Otherwise, I'd so be there.

The recipe attracted me because of the "egg drop" portion. We really like our version of egg drop soup. With this being cold and flu season, I'll share with you that egg drop soup goes down easily on upset stomachs. Nothing could be easier: It's a packet of Lipton Noodle Soup...

made the way it's described on the box, and then drop a beaten raw egg into the boiling water, using a fork to mix it into strings in the soup. I keep a box of Lipton noodle soup on hand at all times just in case one of us gets to feeling under the weather.

Okay, so I don't have many pictures for you today, so immersed was I in the process of creating my quilt. Today, I'll be sewing it into a finished quilt top, but I believe I'm going to try doing this as a quilt-as-you-go project. As usual, I'll continue on with my slow-stitching. Probably, I should start tracing the Tiny Treasures next up on my embroidery dance card.

It's a grocery shopping day for us. Might as well get going. There's nothing else on the day's to-do list, and so there should be plenty of time for sewing.
