Good morning, my friends. Thanks to those of you who chimed in with well wishes about my shoulder spasm. It's feeling better this morning, but still not 100%. I spent most of the day leaning against my heating pad. Keeping it warm seems to help the most. Since I spent most of the day sitting, I don't have much to tell you this morning.
Let's just start with the lovely birthday dinner we had with the family last night. We were celebrating Erik's birthday at a restaurant we've been to before...Amaterra Winery. The restaurant is associated with the winery, and it's a nice way to sample some good wines and have some good food served up with a smile. We've been there several times, and it has been consistently good. This is a picture from when we had dinner there in July of 2024. It's a nice place for outdoor dining during good weather.
Of course, weather in October is more iffy. It was sprinkling yesterday when we arrived. I was kind of surprised to see these blooming anemones just outside the front door.
That's pretty much all I have to show you from yesterday, And I'll probably spend the day in much the same way today. Mike just informed me he needs to drive into town. He'll be gone for a while. I had in mind to mop the floors today, but I offered up no objection when he said he was leaving. (He helps me move heavy stuff out of the way when I mop the floors.) It's a good husband who provides convenient excuses to avoid housework, wouldn't you agree? Maybe we'll do it when he gets back, but I'm hoping the urge will have passed by then.
Instead, I'm thinking of doing a lot more hand-stitching today. If I'm feeling up to it, I might get to work on that Fantastic Felines project I've been threatening to start. My shoulder is ruling the day right now. I'm happy it's better, but it is still threatening me with "One Wrong Move" warnings.
Okay, so with that, I'll get on with my day. It's going to be a slow day, which is also a good day. I hope you have a good day too.

Those are probably Japanese anemones which bloom if the fall and are quite tall. Glad to hear the shoulder is improving and wise to postpone floor mopping for another day. We had our first frost last night, although nothing close to the house was really affected.

Even when you are "not very productive" you are still WAY more productive than I am! When Hubby retired he asked me to teach him how to make quilt tops. The last few weeks he has really been roaring through the fabric strips, making large Log cabin quilt blocks. Whereas I think it was last week that I sewed. This week I haven't even ironed some older fabrics to cut strips from for him as well as a couple of students of mine to whom I teach quilting once a month. I sure hope you are feeling better soon!
Lovely photos, wonderful stitching. ❤️ Smitty is gorgeous. I love cats 🐈
