Okay, so I mentioned we'd visited a quilt shop in my previous post. Now I'm back to tell you all about it. Here's how it looked from the front.
And this is their business card.
The woman working there told me they had a presence on Facebook.
Walking through the front door, it looked like this:
In their display window, they had a few vintage sewing machines.
And a spinning wheel. As long as I live, I'll be grateful I was born after the time when I had to spin my own thread.
It was a small shop, stocked almost exclusively with pretty batiks.
I was sorely tempted by this panel. It was rather large, though...maybe the size of a baby quilt. I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, and so I passed it by. It was really pretty. The little dots around the sides and bottom and the swirls above the eyes were all in metallic gold.
There were more batiks on the other side of the store.
These were the few non-batik fabrics I saw.
These toward the back of the store were flannels.
There were some nice stripes I might have used as bindings. Probably I have enough stripes in my stash already, and so I passed them by too.
For my regional print, I selected a fat quarter of this one. We saw an elk on our drive the previous day, and so it seemed appropriate for many reasons.
I'm needing six fabrics to finish off my fourth (and last) Shop Hop quilt. That's one down, five to go. I'm gonna have fun shopping on this trip.
So that's about all I can tell you about that shop. I was tempted by quite a few fabrics, but it's early in the trip. It seemed like a good idea to pace myself. It was fun to find a quilt shop in this rather small town.

What a lovely quiilt shop. And, I lean to think you found it within 48 hours of being in BC (or was it 24)? Either way, looks like a fun shop and I truly love your regional print purchase too!
Panels make an easy start to a quilt backing … just add some borders to bring it up to the size you need. You’ll probably find lots of panels depicting wildlife and nature in the quilt stores along the way. Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Candy
You picked a cool fabric for your shop hop quilt. Very appropriate.
Dawson's Creek was a good stop on your trip, worth the 2 days as there is a lot to see. Awesome quilt shop!
It's always fun to check out a new quilt shop, and I like your regional fabric choice!
Look a very nice quilt shop but unusual to have so much batiks in one shop. The regional fabric choice is great
My goodness - who knew there were THAT many batiks!! I'd say that you found a great fabric to remember seeing the elk.
