Good morning, my friends. Okay, well I'm sitting here with nothing else to do. Let's go see a quilt shop, shall we? This was the object of my desire here in Whitehorse.
I love that: Compassionate care for the quilt addicted. Count me in. It was on the sign outside the building too.
This was one of those buildings that housed many businesses. It took me a second to find the front door. Ahh...there we are.
Opening the door...watch your step please. Going down.
At the bottom of the stairs, I took this shot. That lovely lady looking in my direction gave me a very detailed tour of the shop. There were two women working here, and they could not have been more friendly.
While I waited for her to finish with her customer, I wandered around a little. They had a nice supply of books.
Turning around, there was a lot to look at.
This caught my eye. I might have bought some, but I didn't know what I'd use it for. Those are metallic silvers.
These patterns were all Bear's Paw patterns, created by people affiliated with the store.
Here are some fabrics for the musician in your family.
There was a nice supply of notions.
Look at these luscious reds.
These were cute. I was tempted, but decided against them. Again. What would I do with them?
The fabrics were about half pretty batiks, and half regular quilter's cottons.
A sign on the door indicated anything black and white was 15% off that day. It seems they have a daily special. I looked at these, but passed them by.
These panels were all created in watercolor by a local artist, and then rendered into fabric by a "Canadian company." Pretty.
This made me smile. Most of their patterns came as kits, but also as the pattern alone.
These next ones were all food fabrics.
Look at this cute teacup pincushion. It was just sitting on a table.
They had a whole room of pretty panels. There were also made-up quilts hanging all around that gave some ideas how to use them.
This table was all 50% off, and there were more 30% off fabrics in the back. I neglected to look at the 30% off fabrics, but I spent plenty of money here. Don't you worry.
These were all regional prints.
These were bundles of fat quarters...
One bundle could create all the blocks for the "Sudoku" quilt below. (There was another row of three blocks hidden from view.) I liked this idea. The fabric were distributed so they followed the rules of the game: no repeats in either vertical or horizontal rows. I might have purchased one of the bundles, but at $54 (Canadian) per bundle, I was discouraged.
So what did I buy? This is my Shop Hop regional fat quarter. I decided on this because of the loon we saw earlier in the trip.
This was my big ticket item. This is a Northern Lights fabric.
You might remember when I purchased this pattern:
My plan is to start making the blocks for this quilt when we get home. I'm sure I can get most of it from my scraps, but I needed a back. I think that Northern Lights fabric will make a great back for the quilt. In Canada, fabric is cut by the meter. I bought 5-1/2 meters of it.
Sadie liked it so much, she broke into a case of the adorables when I showed it to her.
Okay, so that's it from me today. We're being slugs this morning. We've had breakfast, but then Mike went back to bed. While I was proofreading, he asked me if I was planning to take a shower. Yes, and he is too. But now I hear him snoring again. Like I said...slugs. We are from the Pacific Northwest, after all. It's probably too cold for slugs in the Yukon, but they love it in Oregon.
I've written two blog posts already, and I'm going to do some slow-stitching. If the weather cooperates, I'm going to get Smitty out for a walk. 'Til later, my friends. If you want some of those fabrics, just remember to pace yourself. That's two quilt shops (and regional prints) down...four to go.

What a fabulous shop, I'm sure I'd be completely overwhelmed with do much to choose from.
What a fun shop to explore, and some great fabric choices! Sadie, you cutie!
Awesome fabric choices! That northern lights fabric is just gorgeous. I would have been sorely tempted by those panels done by local artists.
Oh my, that northern lights fabric is sooo awesome! Miss Sadie looks quite fetching and happy. 😻❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a nice shop. I think I might have been tempted for one of the panels by local artist Sadie truly is adorable

Looks like a very nice shop. Your Northern Lights fabric is very pretty (has nothing to do with the fact it has lots of blue in it). Enjoy your slow day.
I do love it when Sadie has the adorables and the northern lights fabric is definitely cause for them. I’m glad “we’re” have a recharge this morning as at this age, the batteries rundown a bit faster.
So many pretties to choose from! I think that moose would have come home with me so I'm proud of you for resisting. I think the panels printed from a local artist are beautiful, especially the northern lights.
