Good morning, my friends. It was a day like any other rainy day here. We had a few strong wind gusts with the added bonus of all the kitty beds and kitty towels flying everywhere on the catio. We had to clean up their house this morning. Must be nice to be a furry four-legged person with maid service on demand.
Warm and dry inside, I took the first stitches on April's block for the Sewing Room
These are small blocks. I've moved my hoop to the right now. There's a lot of chain stitching in the next section, and so I probably won't finish it this morning. Tomorrow wouldn't be out of the question, though.
After that, I went to work baking up some of the Original Ted Lasso Biscuits. These are really just a shortbread cookie, and I swear they were all there when they came from the oven. Someone snuck in a taste, I think.
While those were baking, I spent some time on the binding for Jericho Walls. My daily stitching assignment is to sew two long lengths-worth of thread. When I've stitched two lengths, I move on to something else. Yesterday had me turning the second corner. There's still a long way to go.
Smitty was my helper cat in the sewing room yesterday.
I was in the process of adding two more windmills.
And then some piecing to finish off the right-side border.
And then I could sew it to the right side of the quilt. This is how it's looking now. I'm happy to say those borders have been exactly the right length.
Today I'll start on the top border. Both top and bottom borders will be about 12 inches longer than the side borders. It's been taking me about three days to do a full side, and so I don't expect to have this quilt top finished until early next week.
It was too early to stop by then, but also too late to start on the next border. Knowing I'll finish up the Sewing Room stitchery today or tomorrow, I decided to trace the next block for A Year in the Garden. This is another BOM from Jenny of Elefantz. It was free at the time, but now it's
available in her Etsy shop. The blocks for this are very pretty.
This was Sadie's contribution to our busy day.
This was super easy to do...easy enough for the RV. When I'm doing things in the RV, I try to avoid any exotic ingredients, mainly because I don't want to store the leftovers. The "fish sauce" would fall into that category. It would need refrigeration, but I only use it rarely. So, I checked for substitutions, and learned that soy sauce can be substituted at a 1:1 ratio. So that works. I always have soy sauce along, and it happens to be shelf stable.
Today will look a lot like yesterday without the baking. We're set for breakfast snacks for another week now. I'll spend my time slow-stitching and machine stitching. For now, I'm just moving my projects along bit by bit. I want to get in a walk on the treadmill today, and there's one housekeeping chore. Aside from that sewing and more sewing. It's going to be a good day.

Animals praise a good day, a good hunt. They praise rain if they're thirsty. That's prayer. They don't live an unconscious life, they simply have no language to talk about these things. But they are grateful for the good things that come along. ~ Mary Oliver
You are moving along with a number of projects. It's always nice when borders fit without having to fudge anywhere.
It's always good when border pieces are just the right size, in my experience, so glad yours worked out. I wonder who ate those biscuits?? Smitty? Sadie? Haha.
Why do I want to say that it's too bad you don't have a lasso to snag the culprit that stole the biscuits. I know - too punny, even for me.
Yay for right-sized border pieces. Doubt that happens very often!
