Good morning, my friends. It was a fairly decent day of weather yesterday, although still cold and wet. Seattle has had it much worse than we have in Oregon. We're expecting more heavy rains today and tonight. There were at least a few rain breaks yesterday, and it gave me a chance to tend to the bird feeders. I feel guilty when I look out and see them empty. Apparently, I don't feel guilty enough to head out in the drenching rain to fill them.
It was a stay-at-home-and-sew day. I started out working on my slow-stitching, finishing the first of the five snowmen.
I moved my hoop to the next position, and prepared to start sewing on the second snowman.
There was a little housework, a walk on the treadmill, and lunch after that. When I made my way to the sewing room later in the day, I found Sadie ready to help sewing the blocks together for the Color My World baby quilt.
It took about an hour, and then I had a finished quilt top.
There was a good backing fabric in my stash. I had enough length, but not enough width. So, I used the same yellow from the front and pieced together a back for it. Probably I'll use that same yellow for the binding if there's enough left.
For my last trick, I sandwiched it for quilting, and that's where I'll start with it today.
Heading upstairs, I found these two snoozed out. When the weather turns cold and wet, kitties head for places that are warm and dry. Sadie was on the top rung of the kitty pole. Mike covered her up with one of the quilts.
Smitty was napping on his favorite quilt.
While we watched the local news and weather last night, I went to work on the second snowman.
When I had it that far, I moved my hoop down and to the right some more.
That's where I'll start today. It's going to be a busy day today. I have a pedicure scheduled for after lunch. Before that, I'll be starting a chicken stew in the slow cooker. It'll be a nice hearty dinner for a rainy day. If there's time when I get home later today, I'll get started on the quilting for the baby quilt. If nothing else, I'll get the machine set up for quilting.
So, time's a'wasting on this busy day. Guess I'll get on with it.

I have seen many storms in my life. Most storms have caught me by surprise, so I had to learn very quickly to look further and understand that I am not capable of controlling the weather, to exercise the art of patience and to respect the fury of nature. ~ Paulo Coelho
Sounds like a fun day. I'm still working on my machine embroidery World Map Panel Quilt (wallhanging). My order for stabilizers from OESD finally arrived last night, so I can stitch the 3 remaining blocks for this project. We have a couple of meetings today, but primarily related to the landscape/backyard makeover. I think I'd rather join you for a pedicure. Have fun.
That's a very cute baby quilt. I'm with those kitties - need a warm place to nap.
Your ⛄️ snow people are so cute! We are having a few nights in upper 30s , highs in 60s and then the weekend promises 70s again. I still have tomatoes blooming and some cherry ones. I’m glad it’s supposed to get cooler for thanksgiving!
That's going to be a really cute baby quilt!
You made good progress on that baby quilt. You'll have it done in no time. It's finally turned cold enough here that we turned the heat this week. Happy stitching this weekend. Rainy days are the absolute best for spending time in the sewing room.
Today, once I get my internet 'fix', is going to be nothing but sewing. I have PJ's in my sights and hopefully can get most of them finished. That quilt has to be a fun thing to work on when it's dull and rainy outside.
I don't know how I manage to miss all these days of posts lately, but here I am catching up. That baby quilt is cute!
