Good morning, my friends. It's another day of having to leave and go somewhere. Two days in a row. Oh, the humanity. It's a good lead-in to the embroidery block I finished yesterday, though. The block is called "Wash, Preen & Clean." Taking the advice of my quilt block (or maybe it was a suggestion), I got a pedicure yesterday, and I'm getting a haircut today. So here's my quilt block:
I had some things to do in the morning...watering the annuals, feeding the birds, treadmill walking, conversing with cats, and then after lunch, I was able to do some sewing. When I needed to leave for my appointment, I had the block borders this far along.
When I returned home late in the day, I was able to finish it off.
That makes 18 of 25 blocks. Here are all the blocks I have for this quilt so far.
There was still a little time left in the day, and so I quilted a few more lines on the Catnip quilt. It's slow going so far.
It occurs to me that I'm trying to stretch it out and avoid sandwiching the 11 quilt tops awaiting my sandwiching efforts. Here's a peek at the back.
Since I finished my current embroidery project, I needed something new for today's stitching. I'm moving on to the fifth block for Grandpa's Bridges. I was making progress on this while we were traveling. This will be the first time I've picked it up since we returned home. Recall that the designs were all printed onto Sticky Fabri-Solvy. It was pretty quick to prepare it for stitching.
Now it's hooped up and ready to go. I'll start right here this morning.
My haircut appointment is for 11:00 a.m. I expect to have some more time for quilting when I get home this afternoon. In the meantime, I'll get to work on my slow-stitching and keep the morning peaceful. It's a good way to fortify myself before I head out among them. Tomorrow I can stay home.

It's a lot of work keeping yourself pretty, fed and feeling good, huh ?
But you do a good job with everything.
It's always yard work here at nowhere.. here in Michigan.
Well, maybe a little quilting. Working at a few small quilted projects. Quilting them and then the binding.
I got my machine out this afternoon and sewed some more bunting. I hope to make a dinosaur before I pack up. I need a haircut but I'll book it for my holiday in 2 weeks. 11 quilts to sandwich is a huge undertaking, I'm feeling tired at the thought. No wonder you are continuing the quilting and maybe working a little slower. I love the fabrics in that quilt.
Having to leave the house does disrupt the vibe, makes it hard to get back on a schedule. The black thread was the right choice for the Catnip quilt. The simple quilting works well with those busy fabrics. Hope you made more progress after the haircut yesterday.
I have a few errands to run this morning, and then I hope to get some serious work done in the quilt room. We shall see. Hope your day goes well!
I would put off the sandwiching chore too . I find it's bad enough just doing wall hangings much less full-sized quilts.
