Good morning, my friends. What a marvelous day of sewing I had yesterday. Before I could start on anything, however, Smitty reminded me that I needed to fill the bird feeders. He went outside with me and snoopervised while I performed this vitally important task. It's a good thing too because the birds were looking gaunt and pale with hunger. Smitty is dedicated to his job of monitoring the condition of the bird feeders.
When they are finished, I have in mind to create borders using seasonally appropriate fabrics, and then sew them into a whole as if they were a panel. We'll see. I have lots of ideas for how to finish this off.
Sadie showed up then. She thought she was safe from papurr-piecing now that the mini quilt was finished.
Sadie suddenly evaporated when she saw the Tiny House pattern come out. It's been so long since this one was released, you probably forgot what it looks like.
There was just a little time left in my sewing day. This one is lettered "C" through "I." When it was time to stop yesterday, I'd finished sections "C" through "E".
So, I'll finish that off first this morning, and then it will be time to go to work quilting the Pieces of the Past quilt. In my mind, I have just an inkling of how I want to quilt this. I'll probably just figure it out as I go.
Meanwhile, Tiny House #25 was released today...this one:
Today I need to catch up on gardening tasks again. The vegetable garden needs hoeing and the annuals need watering. Aside from that, it's just sewing and more sewing. Also, I have a baking project planned for later on today. It's made with oatmeal. The oatmeal is mixed with milk, and then needs to sit for eight hours. Mine is about one-hour into its eight-hour commitment. When time is up, I'll bake it off. Intriguing, no? I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.

My grandmother raised five children during the Depression by herself. At 50, she threw her sewing machine into the back of a pickup truck and drove from North Dakota to California. She was a real survivor, so that's my stock. That's how I want my kids to be too. ~ Michelle Pfeiffer
Love that left border on "Eggs and Soldiers"--at first I thought those circles were egg-shaped;))) but they work really well...
Your B&W blocks are just beautifully worked, too.
We are having hot hot days right now and it is soooo muggy!! UGH-- thank heavens for our AC--[which is on its last legs our burner man told us Friday--we can either wait for it to go and then have to go without for at least a month to get parts to fix it--or order now---!! DH is researching the whole shebang--not my purview].
Hoping you are enjoying your 4th weekend...hugs, Julierose
Mmm, wonder what is is that you are baking with 8 hour soaked oatmeal? Do hope it is something tasty.
I seemed to have inadvertently deleted you from my blog reading list, no wonder you weren't popping up each day! Never mind, all fixed now, and we are daily friends again.
The embroidered seasons collection is wonderful... don't you just love it when ideas are plentiful!
Also love the Story of my life project!
You, my friend, are simply amazing! For a person who dislikes paper piecing as much as you do, you certainly do a lot of it and in itty bitty pieces too. The results are wonderful but I imagine there's a teeny bit of swearing which could explain the rapid exit by Sadie.
