Good morning, my friends. I'm guessing y'all wondered about more than my spell checker yesterday when I started acting all July-like, and welcomed you to July, and chose my July OMG, and all that. And if you say you weren't, I'll be the first one to say, "Ju Lie!" (Did you see that I did there?) Well. I can't even imagine what got me going two days early, but there it is. I'll just chalk it up to the heat of summer. Sadie is more purrplexed than anyone.
Then, and only then, did I do any housework. In the middle of my housework, however, I realized I'd left two vital items off the shopping list. It was around 3:30 p.m. by then, and it seemed too late to start on anything new in the sewing room. I decided to make a quick trip into town to pick up those items. On the way, I stopped off at a fruit stand and found some fresh blueberries. I'm happy knowing my desserts won't be served naked of their blueberry garnish. I can cross that off my list of things to worry about now.
There's a lot to do today to get ready for dinner with the new neighbors tomorrow. The garden needs hoeing, as always. After that, I'm going to make some dishes ahead. I'll be making a Lemon Cheesecake Mousse, a Dill Potato Salad, and I'll be getting some chicken breasts browned and some barbecue sauce mixed. That will go into the slow cooker tomorrow morning for pulled chicken. It's nothing fancy, but it will be tasty. That will leave just some coleslaw to make for tomorrow.
So, in all of that, I'm still hoping to be able to spend some time hand-stitching the quilt binding. I doubt I'll finish it today, but a good start would be nice. And I'm still needing to make the mini quilt for the Summer Sun stitchery. Also, there's Tiny House #24 sitting around in the sewing room, tapping its toe, waiting for its turn. They are so impatient. In anticipation of this, I started some overnight oatmeal last night, and so breakfast will be fast this morning.
And speaking of fast, I'm going to make a fast getaway just now. Off I go.

When I read yesterday's post I had to make sure I wasn't off! Being retired now I have to look at my phone to see what the date is. Your ribbon quilt is adorable. Have fun with your new neighbors tomorrow night.
Hope you got all your preparations finished and are ready for the dinner. I'm so not ready for July, but you seem to have all your ducks lined up, are least planned anyway. Happy July 4th!
Your new neighbors are in for a treat! I look forward to hearing about it. Bummer on having to go back for those two items, though!
So glad you were able to avert a potential stitching emergency!! Phew!
Enjoy your binding stitching too!
I kept thinking today was already Saturday and July 1 - had a momentary panic that I had missed my guild meeting. LOL
Don't worry about mixing the dates - I got up this morning absolutely certain it's Saturday and actually went so far as to think even the computer had it wrong. Sigh.
