Good morning, my friends. The sun is shining as I write this. I haven't checked the forecast yet, but I'm hoping this will last us for at least the day. Things are supposed to warm up significantly during the coming week. There's even an 80° day in the forecast. It can't come soon enough. I'm ready to get outside and do some gardening. Those dahlia bulbs aren't going to plant themselves.
It's been three days in a row that I've had to go somewhere. Today is a stay-at-home day, which is my favorite kind. There are a few little things on the agenda, but there will be plenty of time for sewing. Yesterday, I had breakfast with my friend, Sue. She brought flowers for my Cinco de Mayo birthday since we weren't sure we'd see one another for that. When I got home, I gave them a bud vase. Pretty, huh? Thank you, Sue.
My slow-stitching had to wait until I was home again. I stitched enough of the current hoop to decide to move upward with my stitching.
There was just a little bit of the design to be stitched outside my hoop. I'll get going on that portion this morning, and then I'll move west from there.
Mike and I needed to run some errands in town. We made four stops before heading for home. It was late in the day before I could get into my sewing room. Once there, I reminded myself I needed to give the Wind in the Whiskers kitty a new eye. I'm not sure why the original one fell off. I could see where I'd quilted it down. I can only think the fabric frayed around the stitching, and it let loose. This one is appliqued (as the last one was). Since it's hanging on the wall, I used the little wand I have for adding crystal embellishments to a quilt as my heat source, and that worked just fine. Probably I should give it a single stitch.
That kitty was my only helper cat yesterday. The other two had given up on doing any sewing by then and were fast asleep upstairs. I'll admit to dragging my feet a little at starting yet another tiny house. By day's end, however, I had it half finished. I've worked my way through Sections "C" through "G."
Today I'll finish Sections "H" through "L" and then add a border. After that, I'll get to work on the next vertical row of Painted Ladies.
If the weather holds, I'll probably get out for a walk today. There are a couple of housekeeping chores on my list, but there will be plenty of time for sewing today. I'm looking forward to it.

Yah you get to stitch a bird today... that's my favourite thing to do!
Nothing better than a day at home after a few busy days away. I'm glad you have some nice weather coming, too! We have gloomy skies and snow (nothing accumulating). The sun peeks out now and again, but not for long.
Sorry I've been missing in action with comments but I have a valid (sort of!) excuse. Having to be the chief cook, bottlewasher AND nurse means my play time has been sadly cut back (Resident Chef had surgery last week). I'm more than ready to take my life back and hand the cooking back to him, but it doesn't appear as though it will happen for a few days (weeks, months, by the feel of it!!!!) yet.
Your flowers are beautiful - lucky you! I bought myself some tulips this morning but they aren't open yet.
Glad you finally got a day at home. It makes for a long week when you don't get your at home stitching time.
