Teetering Tiny House

Good morning, my friends! It's looking like we might have a nice day today. It's a grocery shopping day here at the Three Cats Ranch. It shouldn't be so bad since we picked up about a third of our list last week. This morning I read that daylight savings time begins in just over a month from now. I know people have a love-hate relationship with daylight savings time. All I know is that it's just one step closer to spring and summer and some better weather. And it's pay day for us! What could be better than that? So, there's plenty to feel good about this morning. Chin up!

Yesterday's inchy was another easy one...backstitch and French knots.

I have an idea we'll be doing the leaves for the rose this morning, but that's just a guess.

My pedicure was yesterday, and I needed a nap after lunch. So I didn't make it into the sewing room until about mid-afternoon. The fourth tiny house was released on Monday, and that was my goal for the day. This one was harder than the ones I've done before, and I wish I'd had more contrast in some of my fabrics. They take several hours to make, and so I finished this one up with just minutes to spare. I'm cutting the finished block to 5 inches before adding the borders. The elements for this block came so close to the edge that I ended up cutting off a little tree on the left-hand side. Oh well. Here it is, for better or worse.

Of the four I've finished, this one is definitely the worst. Oh well. Finished is better than perfect.

As you might guess, Miss Sadie has perfect timing. She has a penchant for showing up when she can be the least amount of help...even no help at all. But the catnip is worth the effort.

As I cleaned up my space and turned off the light, I took one more picture of the tiny houses I have so far.

These are released every Monday, and so I have several days before the next one.

Today, I think I will start on my next art quilt for The Endeavourers. The prompt for the next one is "Maps." I've gone in several directions with this, none of them very interesting or motivating. While sitting in bed last night, I came upon something that excited me, and so I'm ready to get a start on it. I can't say any more than that. It'll take some figuring to decide on the best approach. Sometimes coming up with an idea is half the battle.

As always, there's plenty to keep me busy today, and now seems like a good time to get started.

I don't mind going back to daylight saving time. With inflation, the hour will be the only thing I've saved all year. ~ Victor Borge

I’m okay with Daylight Savings Time since we do get longer days… however, I grew up in Danville VA which is situated very near the state border between Virginia and North Carolina. For some time, Virginia observed Daylight Savings Time …. North Carolina did not. We had access to television stations in both states… so, trying to plan television viewing was a bit challenging…some shows could be watched twice, just by changing channels, and other shows could be missed completely!!
I love your little houses!
When I saw that your next challenge prompt is Maps, I knew right away that you will come up with something great. With all of your traveling, I am wondering if that is the direction you will take, or, of you will fool us completely and come up with another focus while still sticking with the theme! Cannot wait to see where this one goes! When is the deadline? Just wondering how long we’ll be in suspense!

Your tiny houses is so cute, love them! All those tiny pieces! I love paperpiecing, but this might be too small for me. Pretty stitchery. No Daylight Savings here. It was tried one year, then they decided against it.

Those tiny houses are fun! I'm still pondering the challenge theme, but I have one idea at least. It will take some planning, though.

I'm one who can't see the value in Daylight Savings Time. I don't know why they don't just change the clocks by half an hour and leave it be.
I must say you're a very brave woman to paper piece such itty bitty little pieces - I'm pretty sure I would have scuttled the entire project before I even finish the first one!
