There isn't a whole lot to say about yesterday. We drove nearly 200 miles on one single road to our spot for the night. We were able to find an inexpensive overnight stay in Bakersfield...not too close to the freeway, and nice level sites. It's a far cry from the mudhole "resort" we stayed in the previous two nights. A while back I started keeping a list of RV parks that we black-listed, and some we chose as favorites, including site numbers if there was a particular spot we liked. This one will go on the nice list. The other one went on the naughty list.
The one interesting thing we saw in yesterday's drive were the snow-covered Sierra Nevada mountains, where there's been record snowfall this year. Of course, they were on Mike's side of the truck, and so this isn't a great picture. I think you can get the idea, however.
The only other thing of note was filling my embroidery hoop. The center star is almost complete, and so you can see this one will go fairly quickly.
This morning I'll move my hoop and continue on my merry stitching way.
Our next stop is
Lake Skinner Recreation Area. It's a Riverside County park. We'd planned to stay a week last year, but then all of California's parks (including the national parks) were closed because of COVID. This year, we're meeting a group of RVing friends there for the week. It should be a lot of fun. I have no idea what the internet situation will be there. For sure, there will be no park wi-fi, but if we can get a cell signal, we can get internet. Time will tell. I'm told there is a Stater Bros. grocery store nearby, so how isolated can it be? Fingers crossed, but if you don't hear from me over the next week, then I'll see you on the other side.

Apparently there are fewer bad woofies in the parks during the winter?
Great idea, keeping a list of nice/not nice RV parks. We used to do that with restaurants while we were on trips. I was alwaya surprised at how handy it was for giving recommendations to others who were headed to those areas. Enjoy your meet up with the RV friends - sounds like fun!
