End of the Rainbow

That's a wrap and a finish. I've taken the last stitches on the Rainbow Jubilee quilt. As a reminder, this quilt pattern is the Jubilee Lap Quilt from the Black and White, Bright and Bold book by Kim Shaefer. It finished up at 61 x 81 inches. This was my project for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2018.

And I remembered to put some labels on it. There's my personalized label, but I also remembered these little "P.S. I Love You" tags that I picked up in a quilt shop a very long time ago. They've been sitting in a drawer, forgotten. Since this is a quilt for my son, it seemed a good time to put one to use.

So that was my slow stitching for yesterday too. Today, I'll start working on the last of the Sundress blocks.

But that's not all the sewing I did yesterday. In the afternoon, I caught up on the last of the monthly quilt blocks. This is the most recent of the Tiny Tuesday blocks.

It's set diagonally.

This block is supposed to be the 14th block, but somehow I have 15 blocks for this Tiny Tuesday project. I'm not sure why. Anyway...here are all the blocks I have so far.

Then I finished two more of the Countdown to Christmas blocks. This first one is Little Red House...only, I'm making my blocks from blues and greens and so mine is just called "Little House." It was designed by Christine Weld. You can find the instructions right here.

This next one is called Jolly St. Nick, and it was designed by Melissa Corry. You can find the instructions right here. With blue and green blocks, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have "Ho Ho" in my not-for-Christmas quilt. My quilt is just intended to absorb some blue and green scraps.

I suppose I could turn the block upside down and call it an "oral orgasm." Oh. Oh. Like when you eat the best chocolate candy ever.

Or, you could read it from top to bottom and call it "I-O, I-O," as in, E-I-E-I-O. Or you could call it McDonald's Farm or something like that. Why, the possibilities are endless!

Speaking of McDonald's Farm (perfect segue), that's what I'll be working on today. The next block is called "There's a Mah-ah-ah." It's a naughty goat eating a quilt. Here's the picture from the cover. Sorry for the blur.

Finally, Mike helped me set up my quilt suspension system. This is from Patsy Thompson's website, and it's System #2. Eliza extends all the way to the back of the table, and so System #1 wouldn't work with my machine. The brackets are supposed to be attached on the sides of the table, but it worked best for my table if we did them from the back.

So that's it from me today. It rained the whole live-long day yesterday. I need to get out and fill the bird feeders, and so I'm hoping for a little less rain today. It's been raining, raining, raining, in keeping with the "April showers bring May flowers" idiom. Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, April "showers," might be more properly called April "deluge." Let's just hope it's worth it.
