That's a wrap and a finish. I've taken the last stitches on the Rainbow Jubilee quilt. As a reminder, this quilt pattern is the Jubilee Lap Quilt from the Black and White, Bright and Bold book by Kim Shaefer. It finished up at 61 x 81 inches. This was my project for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2018.
Here's how it looks from the back.
And I remembered to put some labels on it. There's my personalized label, but I also remembered these little "P.S. I Love You" tags that I picked up in a quilt shop a very long time ago. They've been sitting in a drawer, forgotten. Since this is a quilt for my son, it seemed a good time to put one to use.
Edited to say I'll be linking up to the finishing party at Elm Street Quilts.
So that was my slow stitching for yesterday too. Today, I'll start working on the last of the Sundress blocks.
But that's not all the sewing I did yesterday. In the afternoon, I caught up on the last of the monthly quilt blocks. This is the most recent of the Tiny Tuesday blocks.
It's set diagonally.
This block is supposed to be the 14th block, but somehow I have 15 blocks for this Tiny Tuesday project. I'm not sure why. Anyway...here are all the blocks I have so far.
Then I finished two more of the Countdown to Christmas blocks. This first one is Little Red House...only, I'm making my blocks from blues and greens and so mine is just called "Little House." It was designed by Christine Weld. You can find the instructions right here.
This next one is called Jolly St. Nick, and it was designed by Melissa Corry. You can find the instructions right here. With blue and green blocks, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have "Ho Ho" in my not-for-Christmas quilt. My quilt is just intended to absorb some blue and green scraps.
I suppose I could turn the block upside down and call it an "oral orgasm." Oh. Oh. Like when you eat the best chocolate candy ever.
Or, you could read it from top to bottom and call it "I-O, I-O," as in, E-I-E-I-O. Or you could call it McDonald's Farm or something like that. Why, the possibilities are endless!
Edited to say I'm linking up at the Countdown to Christmas sew-along party at Mama Spark's World.
Speaking of McDonald's Farm (perfect segue), that's what I'll be working on today. The next block is called "There's a Mah-ah-ah." It's a naughty goat eating a quilt. Here's the picture from the cover. Sorry for the blur.
Finally, Mike helped me set up my quilt suspension system. This is from Patsy Thompson's website, and it's System #2. Eliza extends all the way to the back of the table, and so System #1 wouldn't work with my machine. The brackets are supposed to be attached on the sides of the table, but it worked best for my table if we did them from the back.
I haven't actually tried this out yet, and I probably won't until next month. If you want to see how it works, you can watch the video on Patsy Thompson's website. More on this later.
So that's it from me today. It rained the whole live-long day yesterday. I need to get out and fill the bird feeders, and so I'm hoping for a little less rain today. It's been raining, raining, raining, in keeping with the "April showers bring May flowers" idiom. Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, April "showers," might be more properly called April "deluge." Let's just hope it's worth it.

Wow - what a fabulous quilt!
Simply lovely finish on the rainbow--nice work...
Heavy fog today here on the shoreline...now departing a bit to just a smoggy haze...It is 56* but damp--We are supposed to get rain and more rain tonight and all day tomorrow--blub blub blub...hugs, Julierose
Great finish for your son.
I love your quilt. I bet your son is going to love using it.
Would you mind sharing where you got your personalized labels? I would like to have some like that, too.
Your Rainbow Quilt is so me ... black and white with tons of color ... love it! It's snowing here today (western burbs of Chicago) ... 4 inches so far. Last time we had this much snow, so late in the season, was back on April 16, 1961. On the bright side, it's going to be 70 degrees on Tuesday. Crazy weather, for sure.
Yep, I see a battle royal coming when Matthew is back from his adventure! "It's MY quilt Matthew!" says Smitty. "NO! MINE!!" says Matthew.
I-O-I-O Input-Output....
The suspension system looks interesting. Hope it works well for you. Nice to have extra "hands" holding the quilt while you're working on it.
You are catching up on blocks!
Congratulations on finishing your Rainbow Jubilee quilt! I will be interested in hearing how the quilt suspension system works, I have a Baby Lock Tiara also.
We're supposed to get rain and thunder later this week, so maybe it will leave your area and trek on over here. Glad you finished Matthew's quilt, and just in time. Love the whole thing, but that stripey border is the best. The labels are great!
Just love the rainbow quilt and cute labels. Your RSC tinies are looking good. I hope the furkids don't think the suspension system is a new kitty hammock - tempting purrhaps. We are on tornado and flood watch - I'm doing borders which I hate, but it will keep my mind off the crappy weather.
What a fun update. Every time I am reminded of how you work on your monthlies and then decide what else is available to work on, I am motivated to set up my own system. (Did you see how I said, "every time'...It will be good when I don't have to keep making that decision over and over. But thanks for the repeated push, for being a great example.) Your April Showers comment reminded me of something the former owner of our local quilt shop, Momma Made It, used to say when I would stop in on a rainy day, "We have to water this garden we live in". I'm sure it cut down on the grumbling she might otherwise have heard, non-stop, in this very rainy part of the world. It's something I tell myself on these very rainy days and it works until about June. :)
I love the quilt and it's a perfect "guy" quilt!
I love the black and white and rainbow quilt! Great finish!
Love the backing fabric that you picked for that beautiful RSC quilt! Great job.
Congrats! on your RSC finish. It's a beauty!! That boy of yours is a lucky guy.
Wow! Did you ever pick the perfect backing for your RSC quilt. Love, love, love! Great finish! Hope everyone in your house is up & running again soon! Hate to hear about anyone being sick.
The quilt is beautiful! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
Your finished quilt is beautiful! The backing is perfect for it! Congrats on a great finish for the end of April.
