7th Blogiversary Celebration and Giveaway!

This giveaway is now closed. Sorry you missed the party.
Wahoo! Help me celebrate my 7th Blogiversary today. Who'd a thought I'd still be blogging seven years on when I started Cat Patches way back in 2010? There's been a lot of water flow under that bridge, and it's been so much fun! I've met so many wonderful and generous quilters, the time seems to have flown by.

Sadie and Smitty have on their best purrty duds, and they are ready to PURRTEEE! Smitty is especially excited to be here.

Geez, Mom, it's empurrassing to be dressed up this way.

So...thanks for coming everybody! I have something you're really going to like to celebrate and to thank you for being such good friends. It's a 10-fat quarter bundle of "Joyful" by Fusions by AGF for Art Gallery Fabrics.

Something cheerful and bright for these summer days. So what do you have to do to win?

1. Just leave a comment...any comment will do. If you can't think of anything, then tell me about your summer vacation plans. Since the giveaway is to thank you for following along over the years, this prize is reserved for followers only...new, old, salty, sweet, bitter, and twisted...just step on up and tell me how you follow. If you want to become a follower, you can find lots of ways to do it there in my left side bar. Also, I will ship internationally, so all residents of Planet Earth are welcome to join in.

2. If you're no reply, be sure to leave an email address. You can't win if I can't contact you.

I'll leave this giveaway open through Sunday, July 16th and announce the winner sometime on Monday, July 17th. Good luck and thank you!

Congratulations Barbara! I look forward to your blogs. They are a bright spot in my day. As for my summer vacation plans? I don't have any this year, but we've been busy. We had our house painted and a generator installed. After being without power for 3 days straight last winter, it was a nice gift to ourselves. But this Saturday I will be on a Quilt n Cuisine Shop Hop with my quilting buddies.

Congratulations Barbara. I think we must have started blogging in the same year. I think that was the year blogging exploded. I have loved following the exploits of the cats, being a cat person myself. And of course, your sewing and other adventures. You are a very busy lady. I hope you are around for a long while. I ready every post and I follow you on Bloglovin'. Happy anniversary.

I've been following via Blogger for a few years. My husband is taking a four week vacation starting this FRIDAY!!! We will not be traveling this year. He will be working on his new (1967 orange thing -- earth mover, pan, something like that.) He loves equipment. Our son will be in science camp for one of the weeks. I will get to longarm quilt (hopefully the customer quilts that I have) during most of that week. We will also be doing some little road trips to Lake Erie, a waterpark, bowling, putt putt, and a few other little jaunts. It's just going to be fun family time.

Congratulations! I think I fall into the old and twisted follower categories, through Blogger and Facebook. I enjoy reading about all your adventures. The cats and quilts are my faves, the virtual tours of your travels, gardening and cooking are fun also.
My vacation this year was to see my kids in Massachusetts. My main request was to visit the Atlantic coast and that was granted. It was beautiful! They also surprised me with a visit to a quilt show and a fabric store I hadn't been to before. The week went by way too fast and I can hardly wait to do it again!

You know me...I have to comment whether there is a prize or not! I love your blog and all it entails! I especially love your two blogiversary purrty purrticipants.
My summer plans have been slightly side tracked, beings as I don't know the distance between my house and my RV! Yes...I hurt my new baby! So I suppose I would have to say my summer plans are to get poor little Betty (the RV) repaired. I got an estimate yesterday and the price I will have to pay will cement in my knowledge of distances between the RV and other immovable objects. Expensive lesson learned!

I read your blog every day. Love to hear about your quilt, kitties and RV/Camper adventures. Here's to many more years.

Smitty doesn't look too happy. I love reading your blog and especially about Smitty as he reminds me of our recently departed Gus-Gus.
Yesterday marked eleven weeks our little miracle granddaughter has been with us. She's very much like her mom, moves constantly and loves to have her diaper changed. She's started smiling and wanting already to stand up. She's still having a bit of problem holding her head up, but that will come with time. I have been documenting her using my iPhone and am keeping a journal of my visits. Since she was born on a Wednesday, I check in with her on Wednesdays. It seems that my daughter needs lots of help, so I have also been going on Mondays, and Wednesdays so Gabriela can eat, pump, do laundry, take a shower-all those things that new moms need to do in addition to caring for a demanding new baby. It's fun and I suspect it will get easier on her as time goes on. Fortunately I am relatively close so I can help her with these things. Her other grandma lives quite a distance and doesn't get to see her as much. Alicia, Gabriela's big sister spends time with her niece on the weekends. Sorry to bore you with mundane news about our newborn granddaughter, but she's the "light of our lives" right now. I have several projects to make for her and also make "Lacation" recipes for her mom.
Thanks for the opportunity to win some cute fabric that I could use to make something for Isabella.

Hi Barbara,
Congratulations on blogging for 7 years - that is wonderful accomplishment. I blogged for a number of years but I have given it up for now- we moved house after 35 years and I am still teaching full time- there just didn't seem to be enough time to do it all. perhaps I will return to it someday. In the meantime I follow you on bloglovin and on facebook.
I am starting back quilting after a hiatus of 18 months and finished my first quilt on Sunday. I now want to make a Canada 150 quilt and do some wedding quilts too. In my spare time I am still unpacking some things in the garage to purge and catching up with family and friends. All in all life is full which is good. Hope you have a wonderful summer.
Warmest regards,

Wow! 7 years, congratulations--especially since you blog almost daily. I like that in a blogger. I don't 'technically' follow you, so may not be eligible for the drawing, but just wanted you to know that I do read you daily. I have my own routine of morning coffee with my blogging friends; I want to read blogs on my schedule--not get them in my already-over stuffed inbox or my fb (I am afraid your posts would get lost in all the memes, kids photos, and political junk that my 'friends' post). But I do read you every day you post and love ALL that you write about, but especially the kitties and quilts. I am afraid that your bread baking posts have just about sucked me in to going back to baking my own bread--thanks (I think). Keep on doing what you do.

I love your interesting daily posts, and that you include cats and food and flowers--my other main interests besides quilting!

My vacation plans for a family reunion in MO were summarily cancelled when I tripped and dislocated and fractured my shoulder--yes, OUCH. I did get to stay home with my three kitties, but no sewing or cutting fabric or even crocheting for two months and counting. But I still count my blessings that it wasn't worse damage to my body, that the handsome hunks from the fire station rescued me from my kitchen floor, that #1 son rescued me from the ER and watched over me all the next day and every weekend for another month, and that the $1700+ bill has only cost me $600 so far, thanks to insurance. Still finding the silver linings in my clouds!

Love following your blog and love your kitties!

Love your blog - thank you so very much for being so consistent. Usually read it with my breakfast and enjoy all the different features - cats, flowers, recipes, travel etc and of course most of all the quilting info. Sometimes it is like having ones own personal tutorial on a quilting technique. Have been a follower for at least a couple of years now and look forward to seeing your bye line on my email.

I spend every morning with you and always look forward to reading your adventures. I started quilting with you, then traveling and the food info is so much fun. Thank you for all the fun. Oh yea, I have started talking to the cats in the neighborhood, I don't know if I should tell anyone that.

I too am the twisted sister variety. As I say often, you are the HBO station of my day. I get grumpy if I don't visit your blog every day. Mises you lots when you take a break. Where else can a quilter and animal lover learn history, New quilty things, see wonderful pictures of your family (two footed and four footed), fantastic history lessons, and armchair traveling. There's so much more, but this was supposed to be a comment, not chapter 1 of my best seller. Love you Barbara. Thanks for all you do.

First I want to say Happy Blogiversary! Wow! 7 years. I love reading all about the kitties and your adventures. Your sense of humor cracks me up.

The day you posted this I never posted because, truthfully I forgot to come back and do it. The day it was posted was my 15th Wedding Anniversary so I was celebrating the same as you, although no one is getting any prizes from me. :)

Since I've already read the post "today" (which is after this was posted) I'm going to add that I LOVE your camper/caravan quilt. Super cute.

Happy 7 Years!

I love reading your blog, but I don't post a lot! I'm a cat lover too :)

Thanks for the awesome giveaway. Someone will love those fabrics!

Congrats Barbara! I've been following you via email for several years and love to hear all about your adventures! You inspired me to take up hand embroidery again and am now addicted. I can't wait to hear more adventures as you travel east. If you venture in Illinois give me a shout. We plan to travel to Nashville for the total eclipse of the sun which is also our anniversary!

Oh my word, woman, I've been stalking you and enjoying the kitty posts and the quilting ones, too....for so many years! I suppose that makes me an old follower, and perhaps some would consider me twisted, but that's subjective. Haha! Congrats and best wishes for many more years...I share your condition. I believe they used to call it verbosity. If I don't post and make it humorous, I get all clogged up and no one wants that.
Seriously, I feel like we are old friends, and that is an awesome blessing.

I have your blogging to thank for that vacation as you are the one that blogged about the free national park pass this year in Canada so I applied for one. I follow your blog on bloglovin. How do I follow thee? The old fashioned email notice and then I surf on over to your blog!! Why do I follow thee? I think it is all about the variety ... quilting, cats, travel, gardening, cooking, humour, just to name I few! I love that you take us on your trips, whether day or several days, or the upcoming mega trip. Taking me to placed that I will never be, and telling me all about them!! As for summer vacation, I think that was yesterday, when I went to eight quilt stores, some part of RxR as well as a localized Hop. What a variety.

Happy 7th Blogiversary, and may there be many more to celebrate.
More so a huge THANK YOU to you for all your sharing in the blog, along with your giveaways. Good Luck to everyone!

Wow, that was a quick 7 years! I always love what you write, and I love your (sometimes) snarky sense of humor...you sound a whole lot like me!! especially when you get unexpected or undesired results. Thanks for sharing about that nifty little hooker, never saw such a thing.

I follow you via email, but I often click over to the blog to view the pictures better. This is my 2nd attempt to comment, as we are currently on the road, square dancing. well, not at this moment, we're not square dancing, but we will be before the week is out. Right now, we're fighting the rain and the internet (there's nothing much going on in this campground, so everyone and their brother & sister are on the internet!!) on the shore of Lake Oconee, in GA.

Love your Wheel Estate!! gotta go, apparently, it's dinner time at our house and I won't let hubster cook (he's too messy!!), so it's up to me. Always. Much love!

I live just up the coast from you on Vancouver Island and am headed to Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday with my Dad. He doesn't know yet about all the Row by Row stops that I want to make! We'll be watching for fires, that's for sure! Debby
