November Goals and Progress Report

October was a month of big projects and few finishes. Still, I'm happy with what I accomplished. Everything seemed to take longer than expected, and so a lot of my goals went begging this month. Let's see how I did.

Quilting and Flimsies

1. Cats of a Different Color has waited long enough for quilting. To the cats I say, this is your month!  Complete!

2. Make a Flimsy from the blocks for Gingerbread Square. Complete!

Monthly Challenges

3. I have a project planned for

I'm determined to give this collage technique a try. No Progress.

4. I'm still trying to keep up with the blocks for each month's

RSC16

and so I'll make a block to represent October's color choice. No Progress. To be honest, I've kind of lost interest in this project. I'm going to put it in the rotation with the rest of my WIP's.

5. Finish what I started for the first section of "And On That Farm". Complete!

6. Make another row of blocks for the Hobo Quilt. Another row will put me at 30 blocks and halfway finished. No Progress.

7. Make the next block for "It's Raining Cats and Dogs". In Progress. I should have this finished today.

If I can finish all of that, I'll be ready to earn some

I'll quilt the Pumpkin Patch table topper I finished last month. No Progress.

Obviously, no bonus points for me this month.

Moving on....

Let's see what I have on tap for the month of turkeys. Of course, there will be cooking. That isn't for a few weeks, however, and so there should be plenty of time for sewing before the Big Feast.

Quilting and Flimsies

1. I'm creating a new rule for myself when regard to quilting. There is just one quilt left from my last batch of sandwiches, and it happens to be the Stars & Stripes quilt...more appropriate for the 4th of July than Thanksgiving. Since I have a perfectly good pumpkin top to quilt (and because it's small...let's be honest), I'm going to put that on my list to quilt in November. It's pictured above. And that will be my goal for:

2. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'd like to take this Barn Quilt, my oldest UFO, to flimsy stage. Here's where I left it, oh so long ago:

Monthly Challenges
3. I'd still like to give the Happy Villages a try from my October goals (pictured above), and so I'll attempt to complete that goal in November.

4. I didn't make a block for last month's Block Lotto, but I want to put myself back into the lotto in November. Of course, it always depends on the block, and I haven't seen November's block yet.

5. I'd still like to complete a row of blocks for the Hobo Quilt, pictured above, and so I'll continue on with that goal in November.
6. Make the 5th block for the Chicken Buffet quilt. These are the four blocks I have so far. (In a pinch, I can use this as my "Let's Book It" project, so it serves double duty.)
7. I won the block lotto earlier this summer, 48 of these leaf blocks. These are the ones I made:
I have in mind to make some flower blocks and use the leaves to make some sort of garden quilt. Podunk Pretties has a cute flower tutorial, and I'm thinking of doing something similar. Also, I won the September block Lotto, these Barn Door blocks. This is the one I made:
When they're all received, I'll have 48 of these, and it has occurred to me that if I set them on point, they might turn into flowers. We'll see. That's kind of a long drawn out goal for my #7. If I get a start on it, I'll consider it complete.
Those goals are probably a tall order for the month of November, but I always assign myself something for Bonus Points. This month, and with great trepidation, I'll start sewing together the Wind in the Whiskers quilt. If I'm lucky, it will look like this when I'm finished.
All of the sections are complete. It's time to see if it all fits together.
What's on your list for November?

I am giving you lots of points for your finishes and clean out. You have done a great job on so many fronts. One monthly goal is a great idea too.
Excited to see the whiskers quilt put together!

I think you did a good job completing some of your list. They were big projects. So good to see the gingerbread completed. After a couple years and you stuck with it. Well worth it. I want to tell you I finally made the White Birch quilt that you did 4 years ago and thank you for the pattern.
I am so envious that you are so close to the baking school. I would so love to go take some of their classes. I have some of their sourdough starter but would love to taught the basic.
I look forward to what you in up taking.

You had some large projects and mixed in a lot of canning too - you did good!

What a productive month you had! Much more than I did, that is for sure! I need to start making lists of goals...maybe that would improve my productivity!
Cannot wait to follow along on your November progress....
I thought about you earlier today...you need to go to the Romany Quilting blog and look at the fabric that has little campers all over it... As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to tell you about it!

I don't think I've ever seen so many no progresses from you before, October must have been a cooking, playing, living life month... Bonus points :)

You made a lot of good progress even if you didn't get to everything on your list. It's an ambitious list for November too, but if anyone can it's you.
