A Giveaway for The Littles

Do you have access to young children? Offspring? Grandchildren? Nieces? Nephews? Greats of any of the preceding? Great-greats, even? A while back I was contacted and offered a copy of a new children's book by Anne Zoet:

Somehow somebody got the idea that a cat lover lives here. How do you suppose that happened?

So anyway...I've had a chance to read the book now, and it is an adorable story of teamwork between a cat who becomes separated from his family in Brazil and then meets up with a friendly sloth. Together they team up to find a way for Purrball to rejoin his family.

The book is both written and beautifully illustrated by Anne Zoet, who happens to have three cats of her own.

It's the first time Purrball and Burrball have appeared in print, but apparently, there will be more stories of these two friends in the future.

Want to get in on the ground floor of this friendship? All you have to do is leave a comment, and I'll send you your very own copy to share with whoever your Littles happen to be. Any comment will do, but if you need something to get you started, just tell me who among your group of Littles would enjoy reading about Purrball and Burrball.

I'll leave this giveaway open for one week and pick a winner on September 15th. Little Lovers from all over Planet Earth are invited to join in.

Oh my gosh, this sounds like a wonderful book! Can't decide which of the Littles in my life would NOT like it, so I will have to put names in a hat to pick. Thanks for a chance - I love to give books as gifts.

My rainbow and brownie units would love reading it. The girls are all animal lovers. We operate a unit library system but have quite a limited range of books at present.

My 7 year old son Jacob would love this. We have three kitties of our own and he loves sloths! And coming after the news that our favorite author Anna Dewdney died recently, I'd love to see what she makes of the series. Anna Dewdney wrote the Llama Llama books. She also wrote one called Roly Poly Pangolin - so cute! We were so sad to learn about her death. This one looks so cute.

Also, loved reading about your adventures travelling. Hope you made it back with the RV in one piece!

My three grandchildren, all turning 5 this fall, love books of all kinds. The twin boys especially love stories about animals and have a special interest in maps. They would enjoy reading a story about animals from another country.

Well, sure, we've got littles. My great nephew is nearly two, and my newest little cousins are 2 and newly born. But I suspect all the older ones would want to read it, too. :)

I was just at Barnes & Noble this afternoon looking for cute cat books to go with the three cat quilts I'm making for my granddaughters for Christmas. Poor kids, two of them have daddies who don't like cats (how did they get into our family?). I would love a book - and am happy to pay postage. Thanks!

Oh that sounds like an adorable little book. I would love to share the book with my 4 yr old granddaughter. She and her parents lived in our home from the time she was just 2 months old until she was almost 4 yrs old. She just LOVED my Ragdoll cat and that cat followed her everywhere. It was so cute. Now when they come over, which is often since they only live 5 minutes away, my cat gets super excited when she walks in the door and starts running around the house frantically because she's so excited to see her. It's really quite funny. I know my granddaughter would love the book since she loves kitty's so much.

My grandson had to give a report on his favorite animal in preschool, and he chose the sloth! His mother sent me a video of his presentation, and when next I saw him he could tell me all about the sloth. Of all the animals, he chose the sloth! I have been fortunate to find fabric with a sloth on it and have made him several things to his delight! I'm sure he would love this book! Rcoyle at olemiss dot edu.

Should I be lucky enough to win, my biggest decision will be which set of grand babies to give the book to.

All three of my grand babies love cats and own cats.

Thank you for the chance to win.

I devise and make tactile resources for visually, hearing and physically impaired children in our councils state and special schools.
So many of the books I buy for my own grandchildren, are bought again, to have Braille with tactile illustration adaptations to make them able to be read by children who don't have financially or educationally inclined parents.
For work I have special licence to make adaptations to books that can be used for curriculum inclusion and I always respect the authors and illustrators work foremost.
A story with a cat in would be a win, win for all the children I have contact with!
Must keep an eye out for more of this authors work!

But do Smitty and Sadie like it? That's what is important!

Susan said...

Well, I am sure I would enjoy reading it, and I am sure both my great nephew and my greatx2 nephew would enjoy it. But then there are my two great nieces that would like it. But, it sounds like it would make a great book to read to kids at school, big kids in nursing homes and elsewhere as well.

What a fun book it looks to be. Piper and Ginger both read well, Scout in first grade now is learning to read and they all have pets: dogs, cats, maybe a turtle in there as well. Thanks, Barb, for the giveaway. Your blog still ranks as one of my favorites.
