The Many Faces of Maggie

Okay...March 2nd. It came in like a lion here. Our weather was all over the place yesterday. We had rain, wind, hail, and sunshine all in the same day. In other words, typical Oregon spring weather.

It was a good day to spend grocery shopping. When I got home, I was just too darned tired to do much of anything. The grocery store was mobbed, it being senior discount day and all. I put away the groceries and took a nap. When I woke up, I thought about knocking off some steps for my 10k, but I had a hitch in my ankle. Does that ever happen to you? Sometimes I can flex it or stretch it and get it to let loose, but other times not. Besides, I didn't really try very hard. Sometimes the 10k spirit just isn't there.

So then I turned my attention to my March goals, and I'm sort of itching to get at Maggie's pawtrait. I'm still not happy with the photo I have.

I'd like her to be looking at the camera, but it's not easy to get a cat to look directly into the lens. Undaunted, I put the macro lens on my DSLR and set about to capture our little cat. She pretty much roams all over the house now and Smitty only chases her sometimes. She's just as apt to be chasing him, and so he's not as macho as he once was.

Rude cat person that I am, I woke her up from a nap since she was a captive audience. Here's what we ended up with.

Oh no...not this again. I'm so sleepy...

Maggie...look over here.

You're boring me...maybe try using the flash...

That's a little better, but you're still boring me.

Maggie...look this way!

Here...how about if I hold up the sparkle ball? Will that get you to open your eyes?

Okay, now we're talking. I like this one.

I spent some time working on the poster edges, and this is what I came up with.

Okay...I think I'm ready to start now. There's nothing else to do today, the weather sucks, and so that's the plan.

She has the most gorgeous eyes! It'll be fun seeing her pawtrait develop. We're having that changeable weather too.

It's a beautiful picture of course since she is, good luck finding the perfect way to do those eyes justice.
