Real Happy Campers

It was a nice day yesterday despite getting a little morning rain. It started out so pretty with mountains and a red sky. That's Mt. St. Helens on the right and Mt. Rainier on the left.

We had a breakfast date for some gourmet waffles at Off the Waffle with Erik and Mae. On our way, we got a nice view of Mt. Hood.

It was great seeing Erik and Mae. We haven't seen them since before our trip, and the waffles were really something special. I kind of stuck with the apple and cinnamon variety. Mae's had bacon, pears, basil, and maple syrup. It was so yummy (she gave me a taste). Erik and Mike each had one with goat's cheese and topped with an egg. There was some other yummy stuff and Mike added bacon to his. We'll probably do this again, and I'll be more adventurous next time. As we were getting ready to leave, it started raining again, but the afternoon was nice.

My friend Jennifer and I were discussing whether my Wheel Estate quilt needed a catio. I'm afraid their straight-on perspective might make it difficult to create an identifiable catio. However, I started thinking I could add cats to them, and so I dug through my cat fabrics and pulled out this perfect fat quarter. There are lots of different cats, and I can fussy cut them to be added to the quilt blocks.

And so I went back and added a cat to January's blue block. Do you see it?

And then, I included one in February's brown block.

And that brings me up to day with this one for:

RSC16

Now I'm anxious for March's color announcement.

I have a day at home today, and I need to catch up on some housework, and get back into the groove with my 10k steps per day. I've been doing really well, but kind of lost my mojo for it over the weekend. I really just wanted to work on quilt blocks. I'll get back to it today. There's just a little bit left to stitch on the Gingerbread Square block I'm working on currently. Possibly I can finish it today. Then, I'll be starting on my project for:

You might recall that I'm going to make this Valentine's day tablerunner.

This little cutie is from Little Bits of This & That. Sherri was kind enough to post a free pattern for her Be Mine table runner. I had in mind to have this finished for Valentine's Day 2016, but then, we weren't even home for Valentine's Day. That's okay. I'll do it now so I'll have it for next year.

Oh, those campers are so cute! Of, course they need a kitty in each - what cute fabric and nice selection of different furries to chose from.

I like the addition of a cat (or cats?) to each camper. It makes it more warm and fuzzy.

The cats are perfect Barbara! Just the right size and add such a lovely touch to these blocks. Mind you they must be quite a fiddle to appliqué.

Well that's just an ingenious idea!!! Don't you just love it when you go to your stash and find the perfect fabric just sitting there waiting for you? I'm in love with the kitty sitting in the window of the brown camper 😻

Dang! I tried to add a cute cat emoji in there but it didn't translate. Sorry for the stupid question marks it put at the end instead LOL!!!

I foresee a quilt from that second photo--maybe the first as well.
And (in case the previous comment deleted itself instead of sending itself when it disappeared)I love the addition of cats to the camper blocks!

Those feline additions to the campers are just the finishing touch that was needed.

Your cute campers are just purrrrfect with the addition of cats. Hmmmm... I think that's a good rule of thumb. Everything is better with cats!

Fun caravans; we briefly had one like that, but it was green, like thousands of others. Yours are so original!

Your campers are such a hoot!! These will make such a cute quilt! Can't wait to see them every month!
Love the mountains and THAT sky!! Unbelievable! My daughter lives in Hillsboro, OR and when we visit I love to see Mount Hood in the distance.

The cats are the perfect touch for the blocks, and they say "This is Barbara's place." Love the one in the window.

P.S. Your beautiful mountain photos make me so homesick for WA state, where we spent over 20 years.
