November Goals and Progress Report

Another month gone by. Is it just me, or is it getting dangerously close to Christmas? Things are just about to get crazy. Oh yes...did you remember to fall back?

October ended up being much more relaxed than I ever imagined. I finished my projects easily, and so I had some time for play on some other things I'd wanted to do for quite a while. So, let's just check out October's list of goals.

1. On tap for October's quilting challenge is the Dream Machines quilt. Complete! and now residing happily in its new home in Florida.

2.  I'd like to try to finish off the Mom Cats quilt top. Complete!

3. If I can finish that one, I'd like to stitch to flimsy stage the Vintage Kitchen quilt. Complete!

Monthly Challenges

4. Jumping in line ahead of everything else is my project for this month's

from this book:

I'm anxious beyond reason to make a portrait of my sweet Gracie. Complete!

5. And I've been my usual slothful self when it comes to participating in

Without knowing what the October block is, it's hard to say for sure that I'll be motivated, but I really, really, really am planning to make a block for the October lotto. Well, No progress. October's block required either a template or a specialized ruler, and I dislike both. Better luck in November.

WIP's

6. Still on my list of to-do's is the next section for Mumm's the Word. Complete!

7. I took September off from making any more blocks for the Live, Love, Teach quilt, but I have four more blocks slated for October. These constitute blocks 29-32 of the 56 blocks I have to make. Complete!

If I can get all of that finished, I'd like to at least get a start on quilting the Blushing Aspens table runner. I'd like to finish it before the fall season passes me by. Complete!

Still...no bonus points for me. I missed the Block Lotto, and so I must pay the penalty.

So, let's take a look at November, shall we? Or don't. As always, it's totally up to you. We here at Cat Patches value democracy above everything but cats.

Quilting and Flimsies

1. Finally, finally, finally, the Doors of Ireland quilt has moved to the top of the quilts-to-be-quilted pile. I have a lot of ideas about how to quilt this, and so hopefully, the delay has given me enough time to practice my free motion quilting and I'll be able to pull it off.

2. Finish the top for "A Cat is a Cat". I kind of jumped ahead with my own kitty portraits and left Samson in the dust. Poor Samson still needs top-stitching.

3. And finish Smitty's pawtrait, of course.

Monthly Challenges

4. This is always a fun challenge, and I've ended up with some pretty cool quilts that would never have been made otherwise. For this month, I'm continuing on with the Chicken Buffet quilt. Sharon kindly told me I could use it each time I completed a block for this fun quilt.

5. And I'll take another shot at the Block Lotto in November.

6. Make the next block for the Wind in the Whiskers quilt. These take some time. I believe this is the block I'll be doing next.

7. Continue on with the blocks for the Live, Love, Teach quilt. This time, I'll be doing Blocks 33-36 of the 56 total blocks.

8. Finally, for bonus points, I'll try to get the quilting done for the Feed the Cat quilt.

9. And I'd like to at least get a start sewing the blocks together for the Quilting Snowladies.

That's a pretty good list for the busy month of November. Think I'm up to the challenge? We shall see.

What's on your list of goals for November?

Congratulations on all that you got done in October. It is an impressive list. Good luck with your November goals.

I love how Smitty's quilt is coming along. Such a handsome devil.

Great work during October you really got that list licked. You have an interesting set of November goals. I love the snow ladies and the doors of Ireland so I'm really looking forward to those two goals. Good luck

An impressive October indeed! You have guite the pile of 'to-b-quilted', but I know you will certainly try to make a dent in it.

Nice list of completes. Poor Samson, the original that got you going with the oh so impressive Gracie and Smitty portraits.

I'm always impressed with how much you get done. And to think you also canned veggies, too.

My November list? I have just realized that I am making seven quilts as Christmas gifts. And have completed three tops so far. And cut out two partial tops. And not even started two. Oh, did I mention that I plan to quilt all of these myself? Bring on the adrenaline!
