Quilting Finished

Hooray! All the quilting is finished on Vintage Tin.

My friend Marei has the same mid-arm machine that I have, although our two machines bear different brand names. She reminded me recently that I have a stitch counter on my machine that can be reset at the beginning of each project. This quilt took 121,461 quilting stitches. There's no reason whatsoever to know that, but it's a fun fact nonetheless. I only wish there were a way to count the embroidery stitches. (Don't look at me to do that.) All that's left to do now is the binding and the label, and that puppy will be finished.

Today I'm going to the Northwest Quilting Expo. Usually I miss this show because we are often traveling throughout the month of September. This year, my Vintage Miniature Sewing Machines quilt is on display. There will be some fabulous quilts in this show, and so I absolutely don't expect to win anything. Still, I submitted my quilt for judging because I'm curious to know what the judges will say about it. No doubt, they'll tell me to take my binding stitches closer together since that seems to be the favorite critique of my work so far. Hopefully, they'll be nice.

If I get home early enough this afternoon, I'll get going on the binding for Vintage Tin. There is still nearly a week left in the month, and that will give me some time to get caught up on the blocks I've been wanting to do for months. First up will be to catch up on my cats for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I'm three months behind on that. Then, I'll start making two more block sets for the Yard Art quilt. There is always a lot to do. I need more hours in my day. How about you?

Tomorrow I should have some eye candy for you, so polish your spectacles.

I so love this quilt!!! Having driven the Route 66 myself too, I would love to make this one day. Do you know if it's for sale somewhere or did you design it yourself?? Next time I'm in the US I will definitly search for it!
I'm a sucker for silly facts that nobody cares about, so a stitch-counter on a machine?!! LOVE it!!! So not important, but so fun to know....

Do you have a Fitbit? Seems like there aught to be a way to make it count your embroidery stitches, right? ;)
