Unless I miss my guess, you're really more interested in Day Last of this quilt, and so here you go:
The quilting is essentially not visible from the back, and that's by design. I'm not yet confident enough to do something that's going to show up from the back.
Here's the embroidered quilt label I made for it. This quilt has always been for my son, Erik, and it's finished just in time for his 36th birthday on October 9th. Obviously, he's my son from a different mother because I am not nearly old enough to have a child rapidly approaching old age himself.
Of course, no quilt is complete without submitting to a Furrnal Exam. Let's eavesdrop on the conversation between the furry panel of judges.
Gracie! Mom finished another quilt. It's time fur our inspection!
Oh wow, Smitty! I love, love, love this quilt! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
High marks for snuggleability. [Rub, rub, rub, snuffle, snort) Ahhhhhhhh. It's so cozy against my furs.
Well, Gracie, I'm afraid it cannot go out the door like this. It has a cat-astrophic omission.
I have given it a thorough going-over, and there is not a single cat on this quilt. Not one...just a lot of birds...of the flying geese variety. Come to think of it, it makes sense that a quilt of automeowbiles would have honkers. Ha! Hey, Gracie! I just made a punny joke!
Arggh, Smitty. That was a stinker. I'm more worried about this absence of cats business though. I think this one car might be a cat-illac. What do you think?
Fur sure, I think that car was built with a cat-alytic converter.
Well, hm, I'm thinking about this. It does include some Meowtercycles.
Okay, Gracie...I'll give it a pass...but only because I really like the birds.
Yay! Okay, Smitty. Back to snuggling.
Phew. I thought I'd failed the Furrnal Exam there for a minute. Here are some detailed shots of the blocks. Try not to notice the cat.
She's auditioning for some paw modeling jobs, and so she's practicing her moves.
So, there you go. Signed, sealed, and soon to be delivered.
The only other sewing related item I've done since my last post has been to get the applique fused for these two block sets for the Yard Art quilt. As long as we're confessing, I'll admit that I started the Yard Art quilt on November 8, 2012, and sadly, it isn't my oldest UFO. (Hangs head in shame.)
So far, only the greenery in one of the trees has been top-stitched, and so top-stitching the rest is first on today's list. It's a CSA pick-up day, but aside from that it's NBS (nothing but sewing). My favorite kind of day.

Very nice Barbara...Erik is going to love it! Love the commentary by Smitty and Gracie...hilarious!
I totally agree. Lucky Eric. And it is always a treat to see comments form the felines.
This is so wonderful! I would not hold my head in shame with the ufo, I pulled one out this weekend that is english paper piecing that I started sometime in 2004, So who should be hiding! I think it is me.... So Glad Smitty and Gracie approve of Eric's quilt. I know I sure love it.
absolutely stunning! He is going to LOVE IT!
Excellent post! Made me smile after a very long day.
Great finish. I'm looking forward to a NBS day, can't even remember the last time. Tomorrow we head for Arches National Park. I feel like we're on your trip in reverse.
Great job! You know Gracie is wanting to take over Vanna's job when she retires:) The paw was in the perfect position:)
Keep up the good work!
That Gracie sure is talented! And Smitty is one clever critic. The quilt is wonderful! You always do such nice work!
OMG - those infurnal meows crack me up. This is just fantastic - I wouldn't want to part with it.
Congrats on the finish! Vintage Tin turned out beautifully. Smitty and Gracie are really harsh critics, glad they gave you pass on that one.
If you are shamed that your oldest UFO is just 3 years old just realize that you are actually a proficient finisher compared to one whose oldest UFO is 10 years old.
