Gracie's Hard Party

What? Gracie's Home? Yay!!!!!!!

Oh, Smitty. Let's just say I'm feeling that way that rhymes with your name. It's been a hard couple of days. I don't even remember what happened. It must have been too much catnip.

Oh man, Gracie. You're stinking like that bad vet place. You need to clean your furs, my friend. Sheesh. Peee Eeewwww. Gack. Strangle. Sniff. Snort.

Honest to gosh, Smitty. I can't remember when I've felt so bad.

Don't end up like me. Be careful with the catnip. That stuff'll kill you.

Last thing I remember is being crated off in a box.

And I don't know where I went, but man, oh, man. I feel like dog meat. Warmed over mouse guts.

Oh yeah, man. Scratch it. My head feels like it's going to explode.

Geez, Gracie. You've got me worried now. Really? Catnip did that? Are you sure you didn't get woofied or something?

I don't know, man. I can't remember a thing.

Maybe it was one of those dogs at the neighbor's house. Or maybe it was Uno! Yeah, I'll bet it was Uno!

I don't know, Smitty, but something really bad happened. I'm purrobably going to have nightmares about it.

Uno! That scoundrel! I knew it!

Be careful who you hang out with Smitty. You could end up like me. Someone installed a zipper in my side. A zipper! Can you imagine?

But, hey. Mom said she'd edit out the grotesquery so I could show everyone that my beautiful fur colors ain't no dye job. My black furs grow from black skin. My white furs grow from white skin. And my orange furs grow from pink skin. Yep. I'm the genuine article, and there's proof.

Not sure what I'm going to do with this zipper though. I suppose I could hide a dagger in there...or maybe a little bag of treats. But first, my head has to stop hurting. Oh. My. Aching. Head.

Well, I'm going to be super duper careful, Gracie. I don't want a zipper in my side. No way. But you know, it could be handy for carrying around mousies when I catch them. You know how those things like to wiggle and run away. A zipper pocket could come in handy.

So, do you think you're going to be all right, Gracie?

Yeah, Smitty. I just need to sleep it off. Mom and Dad have some good medicine for me. I've had some water and some treats. Mom says I have to keep the cone of shame on for a couple of days, and then she's going to take me to the vet on Monday and have my zipper looked at. Until I'm feeling a little better, I think every day is going to be Moanday. For sure, I'm going to be more careful about how much catnip I do, and I'm going to choose my friends more carefully too.

Cute post, but did I miss something major? What happened to sweet Gracie? I'm so happy she is home and going to be ok, but the idea of a zipper in her side is pretty scary. I hope she can get plenty of rest, and I'm sure she'll get a lot of love, special kitty massages and snacks, so she'll feel 100% purrfect very soon.

Oh sweet Gracie.... it may take a bit, but you'll feel better soon. Just take it easy and let the parents scritch you wherever it needs scritching. Now is the time to really practice those naps that you excel in! Hugs!

Smitty, be sure to be extra nice to Gracie from now on. She deserves it!
Gracie, the cone won't have to stay on toooo long. I'll bet that dad will scratch under it whenever you need it. And you're right, I think the zipper compartment would be a great place to keep some treats.

I am so glad Gracie is back home again, and I am sure she is too. Sorry she has had such a tramatic could of days. Smitty looks like he is learning a lesson here. Speedy recovery for Ms. Gracie and give Mr Smitty a nice chin scratch as well, but tell him he needs to be nicer to Gracie... She is such a sweet girl.

Wow that is one serious battle scar Gracie. I hope it heals quickly and your furs grow back fast.

Shoot! I think this is a lesson for me to keep an eye on Abby "play" with Gracie. Getting rid of the abscess will help make the girl feel tons better. My cat from the past got into a fight with an alley cat and formed an abscess on his ear and on on his leg and after they were drained, he was back to his usual curmudgeon ways. Poor Gracie.

Poor Gracie! Having zippers put in is definitely no fun at all.
