Slow Moving Day

It was a blissful day at home today. Tomorrow will be as well. I'm saying a day at home with no obligations is the best kind of day. Having all that time stretched out ahead of me can cause me to move in slow motion, however, and it was nearly noon before I moved my rear end off the couch. That doesn't mean I wasn't doing anything, however. I was spending all that time catching up on the embroidery that sat idle for the past couple of days. Now I have the words at the top complete.

Words are kind of tedious to embroider, in my estimation. It will be more fun now that I've reached the actual design. This piece is large enough that I'm working it from top to bottom. I have to roll up and pin the part I'm not working on, and to make that as easy as possible, I'm just working right to left, then left to right, on down until I get to the words at the bottom. By then, it will be close to being finished. I'll probably find those words easier to get through.

Once I had "underestimate" all stitched, I got busy with the last of the tomatoes making one last batch of tomato chutney. This is so good, and I've given away more than half of what I made. Now I have another 7 half pints. That should see us through until the next season of tomatoes.

After I took the jars out of the canner, I got busy on my "Let's Book It" project for the month, the "Leaves" table runner.

I still have two more colors to cut, but I ran out of time for today. Here's what I have so far.

Since tomorrow is another day at home...a day with no tomatoes to process...I'm thinking I'll get started sewing this together.

It was a relaxing day, and now it's time to get busy with dinner. How did you spend your Wednesday?

Yesterday was my Mom's surgery, today was follow-up - so not much done. Tomorrow is a day at home and I hope to catch up on some blocks.

I love no-obligation days!!!! Usually, the only time I can enjoy that is a Sunday if it's not messed up with something.

The chutney looks good!! I used to make salsa with my tomatoes, but then I found some I really like better at Costco's, lol. So for the past 2 years I have made spaghetti sauce and canned it. The leaf quilt will be beautiful.

My day at home was filled with chores and a break to have ice cream with a good friend. The perfect day. Today is laundry and I hope I can get a walk in. The air is crisp, autumn colors look just like your table runner.
