Lake Superior Shoreline

We are staying in Gooseberry Falls State Park for the next two nights, just below Beaver Bay, Minnesota. We were in Canada last night. Because of roaming charges, we have not had internet access. The KOA in Thunder Bay had free wi- fi, but it seems our site, too far from the signal, was wi-fi free. Tonight, we are dry camping (thus, no electricity) and so I can't use my laptop. I'm typing this on my phone, which is a royal pain.

This image is our first good view of Lake Superior on the USA side, just below Grand Portage, Minnesota. I have lots more pictures, and much to tell, but it will have to wait until we are in a more modern campsite. For now, we are enjoying the view of the lake.

Tomorrow we will explore the area, especially Split Rock Lighthouse. There is a quilt shop in Beaver Bay, and I'm hoping for an opportunity to pay them a visit.

For now, I'll say to you what we tell the kitties whenever we set off for the day: I'll see you on the other side.

Lake Superior is so amazing as it is so large. We went to Duluth and saw it when we visited the State in 2005. Minnesota is such a lovely place. We were based in Stillwater. Enjoy the lighthouse and, of course, the quilt shop!

OMGosh!! You were in our neck of the woods!!! My home is in Manitouwadge, which is about 4 hours east of Thunder Bay! Well, actually, we are 1/2 hour off the main highway further north in the bush! I know how beautiful the drive is along the north shore of Lake Superior, one day we will have to do the circle route to see the southern shore!!

just found you on the Quilting Blogs - I am in a campground too only I'm in Nebraska right now - I hear you about the KOA Wi-Fi - we have been at a few of them this trip and always end up using our IPhone's hotspot to pull up the internet. sounds like a beautiful place you are at right now.

How beautiful! We were just talking tonight about my 'need' to be connected at all times and how anxious I feel when there is no internet access. Roughing it has a whole new meaning these days. :)

When I read "Gooseberry Falls" I was immediately transported to Rocky & Bullwinkle! LOL Just me & my strange brain.

Hope you are relaxing while you're WiFi-less & enjoying the view.

Happy Trails!

I've been to the quilt store in Beaver Bay. It's a lovely area. We were there last September. Enjoy!

What an amazing view. I haven't got the patience to input much from my phone but I'm really pleased you put the effort in. No internet access is such a pain.
