June NewFO Linky Party and Giveaway

2014 NewFO Challenge

It's the first NewFO Linky Party of the summer! So what's new? It's time to show off your new projects started during the month of June. This being the month of weddings, we're playing for the Double Wedding Ring lapel pin during June.

Everyone who links up with a new project will be entered to win.

I ended up with more than expected between online challenges and guild challenges and started several new projects during June. First, I had a partner in the monthly Doll Quilt Swap.

 Doll Quilters

The optional theme was "In the Garden" and I made this "Pretty Posies" quilt for my partner.

That one's finished, but not to worry...no finishes are required in the NewFO Challenge. Just show 'em, finished or not. And speaking of not being finished...here's one. This is the quilt I made for my guild challenge, Initially Yours. With my initials of "BS", I made this [B]looming [S]unflower quilt. It still needs quilting and binding, and I'll have to get at that pretty soon since it's due in mid-August.

And here's another unfinished project...my Aspen Tree for the "Let's Book It" challenge.

This one still needs several things done to it, not to mention top-stitching, quilting, and binding.

Finally, I started a new embroidery project called "An Embroiderer's Blessing" and this one is a long way from finished. It's a fun little project with some new and different stitches.

That's it from me. Now I'm ready to see what's new in your sewing room. Here are my friendly guidelines:

1.  Please link-up with your newly started projects from June, finished or not.  If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.

2.  Please link back to this post from your blog.  Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog.  Links to entire blogs will be edited.  Links provided for the sole purpose of promoting other events or shopping experiences will be deleted without apology. Please do not link to your Etsy shops or other giveaways and/or promotions you have going on your own blog. To be clear, it is okay to link to other events, but I want to see your NewFO's as a part of your post.

3.  Don't have a blog?  Upload an image to this FlickR group and link to that.  If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me.  If you're having trouble posting your image, email it as an attachment, and I will be happy to post it for you.  Please know that it takes a bit for your thumbnail to appear, so don't despair.  It will appear eventually.  You might need to "refresh".

4.  Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up.  No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway.  Email me separately if you need to.

I'll leave this linky party open until one minute before midnight on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Winner of the Double Wedding Ring lapel pin will be announced on Monday, July 7, 2014!  We will ship anywhere in the known Universe, so everyone is welcome!

Okay, let 'er rip:

lovely work and I love the double wedding ring pin, this is one of my favorite, the only double wedding ring quilt I ever made was for my Mum and Dad. Where do you get your pins from? Thanks for keeping us starting! Celine

It's pretty unusual for me to actually get anything started, much less finished, and your list of accomplishments always impresses me! :)

Love your sunflower! ...well all of your work! You get lots done! I'm plugging along on my finishes, but did get one quilt started just under the gun. Got a new pattern and was itching to try it out1

All of your projects are beautiful, but your embroidery just takes my breath away! I wish I could learn to do that.

Hi Barbara! Your hand-stitching is getting fancy, I really like your new project!

Thank you for hosting us!

Although I had no right to start something new, given that I am GETTING MARRIED IN TWO DAYS, that little deadline did not stop me from a newFO that's gonna take some time to finish.
So... you should just award me the pin as a wedding present, right?
Thanks for hosting this par-tay, Barbara, I love to see everyone's new stuff!

I'm late and had one of those Oh Sh*t moments, with the holiday time seems to be running away from me. Love the posies, that would be a pretty block for a little girls quilt all in pinks.

Pretty Posies is so cute! And the BS quilt is fabulous! I love the way the colors work to show off the sunflower.

I've been having some camera probs, so nothing to link up again. Need to buy some decent batteries! :)
