Stitches in Bloom Quilt Show: Part Two

If you missed the quilts from yesterday's post, you can see them right here. Today I have some more quilts to show you, and I'll have some more tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll have a little surprise giveaway for you, so you can be on the lookout for that. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's just get to the quilts I have to show you today.

The first one was possibly one of the more interesting quilts to look at. It's a medium-sized wall-hanging called "221 B Baker Street". If you're a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle, you might recognize that address as the London home of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The details include elements from some of his famous stories.

Peek inside the windows to see some of the wonderful details:

Some folks are so clever. There were two quilts from the next designer with this same curving starburst design. Sorry about that bright spot in the lower corner. Some of the quilts were in direct sunlight, making it impossible to photograph them well. Also, I couldn't get that woman on the right to move out of the way. Sheesh...doesn't she know that the whole point of a quilt show is for me to take pictures to post on my blog? What was she thinking actually enjoying looking at the quilts, anyway? Oh yes, and don't forget to say "Hi" to my shadow self down there in the lower left corner. I only bring my shadow self out on sunny days.

The next quilt requires a little explanation. Here's the tag that went along with it.

And here is their beautiful quilt:

You can see that there are a mix of blocks in the one below...some log cabins, come courthouse steps, some rail fences. I love how the strips of fabric bring out the landscape. Very clever.

The next one is this quilter's version of "Sunbonnet Sue". She called her little figure, "Patti Sue". Each block represents a different season, but this being Oregon, she's always wearing a raincoat. I don't know if that was the quilter's intention, but Sue and I had a good laugh about it. Love the quilt and the colors.

And how could I resist this next one? The name says it all:

Finally...this lovely whimsical design. What a great use of scraps!

I hope you've enjoyed today's installment. Be sure to come back to see more quilts tomorrow and to get in on the giveaway!

I absolutely love seeing all those quilts, makes me feel like I was there with you enjoying them. Boy there are some very talented quilters in Oregon. I'm not a big fan of ART quilts but those you showed are amazing. Thanks for taking us along with you.

More lovelies today - hooray! I do like when your shadow self puts in an appearance too. :)
The range of styles at this show is wonderful - something for everyone. The Cat in the Patch looks a little angry to me...

I love the house and all the details, really creative. And I really love the kitties, and love the background fabric she used, nice idea for a window scene.

Loved the last two. You might have guessed by now that I love scrappy and cats, so it would no surprise to you which I picked. But you probably don't know that I love Sherlock Holmes too, so that quilt was appealing to me too. Loved the quirky little scenes in the windows. Thanks for sharing

When I saw the first quilt in this post, I thought it was the newest in your line of "Doors" quilts :) Seriously, your quilts are every bit that good! I really loved the Curving Starburst - amazing! And I'm wondering how Michele got a picture of my Gypsy to use for Cats in the Patch???

Are you familiar with the *tails* of Skippy Jon Jones? That's immediately what I thought of who I saw the Patches of Cats piece! Too cute!! :)

Really lovely, all of them, but I got a huge chuckle out of the cat one. That quilt would be fun to have hanging in my house.
