Full Moon

At last, all of the blocks for the Hello Moon QAL have been published, and today was the day I set aside to finish them up. (By the way, if you're hoping to print out these block patterns, time's a wastin' because I don't think they'll be available much longer.)

So here is the November block:

And here's the December block:

That's supposed to be a fox. I don't know about anybody else, but I could have used a little more direction on the fox. I went with some images I found online. This one, for instance:

But I still think I ended up with a sort of badger-otter-fox-wolf-beaver hybrid. And could it be an Arctic Fox? In that case, it would be all white.

I ended up top-stitching it in white because I was afraid black thread wouldn't give me enough contrast...and it definitely needed contrast.

So here are all the blocks...a "full moon", if you will:

Updated to say that I'll be linking this post to:

Of course, I had my helper cat with me in the sewing room. His job was to chew on everything in sight.

Gracie didn't have time to help in the sewing room. She's still in hard core training for the Napping Marathon event in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

So aside from a trip into town today, that's the extent of what I accomplished. I have just one more thing to cross off my December to-do list, and I think I'm going to make it!

This is such a cute and whimsical BOM. Well done Barbara. Ah, my helpers napped all day - and probably will all night too. AND there is a mouse in the house - guess who is trying to catch it?

Smitty looks like he is being a real big help on all those things that you needed to have chewed on! I'm rooting for Gracie. I'm sure she's going to do great in the 2014 Winter Olympics!

Great to see the blocks all done and I think the fox is fine - very recognizable.
It sure is a cat's life!

Yours came out really cute! I still have to do the last few of mine. I'm with Gracie, I would like to sleep for a few days!

Sleeping is my favorite thing to do. My younger brother used to tell me, "You can't store it up, Lynda!" I didn't believe him then and still enjoy a nap as often as I can get one. Evevn more than one a day on the days that it's really overcast and dreary.

Well done you! If I am to achieve anything this coming year, I should take a leaf out of your book!

So now we can officially say we've been "Mooned"? Cool!!!! I love this series. Every time you post one I think, "I want to make those!" But I haven't so far. I have saved the patterns though for this and Hello Sun, so someday ..... hopefully ..... I'm with you on the fox - I thought he looked weird on the pattern before I saw your interpretation. You did a great job of making him look more like a fox :*)

The moons are so much fun! Great job. I'm guessing that the fox has his tail wrapped around to keep warm, right? Right!

I started on some glasses cases I'm making for my Aunt - just need to find (or buy) some off-white flannel for the insides of them.

I took an unintentional nap this evening while I was watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix! All the sudden I realized I didn't know how they got where they were - I was 3/4 to the end & had to "rewind" back to the beginning! LOL

Sweet! Even before reaading your words I knew it was a fox so it fits nicely and looks good. It will be interesting to see how you set these....I'll be watching. Thanks for sharing.

I love those blocks and the fox looks great. Gracie will do excellently in the napping stakes, she seems to have perfected the technique.

Wow, Barbara, that is fabulous!! Love your kitty, too. I miss all my pets. We had two cats, two dogs at one time. We lost our last dog in October, and I'm missing them. I've been feeding the squirrels and the birds, but it's not the same. Happy New Year!

Haha! I love Smitty! If you ever need to send him on vacation somewhere, please consider North Alabama. There are acres of woods and creeks for him to happily explore! Your moon blocks are darling; especially the little fox critter! I've saved 'em all for some day. LOL! My "some day" is going to be pretty stinkin' busy! :)
