More Birdcam Images

Today is a stay-at-home day for me. Ordinarily this would be a swimming day, but we're having really cold weather right now, and my knee kind of wants to stiffen up on me. It's a great excuse to avoid swimming! It's fine with me to start out slow for now, and all-in-all, I have more pain-free days all the time. Tomorrow is a therapy day and that always helps.

I'm doing laundry today and then spending the day in my sewing room. I'm going to start cutting out my Good Morning quilt, which is my November NewFO project. It's such a pretty quilt, and I'm kind of excited to get started on it.

If you can stand more birdcam images, I'm posting below some of the best images of the Flicker I've been able to get so far. I think these may be the first that I've been able to capture of the male too. The birds were extremely active yesterday. I put a berry suet cake in the suet feeder and all the birds really went for it including the jays, the Flicker, and the little birds as well. I'll have to keep that in mind since it makes it easy to point the camera in the right direction to maximize the different birds I can capture. So here are some of the best images from yesterday.

Here's the female Northern Flicker

Here's the male. You can tell him by his red moustache. Love that spotted breast.

Mrs. Flicker again. She is the one I see most often at the feeder. Typical.

These may be the best images I've captured of the House Finch.

House Finch with a dark-eyed junco.

Stealth Bomber bird off to the right there.

Who's your daddy?

So that's about it from me. Sewing and laundry, and that's it. I'm writing this post in the morning, but I'll schedule it to post later on this afternoon once the "party page" for the Blog Hop Party with Giveaways is up and active. Good luck in the giveaways and happy sewing today!

Great bird pictures. I must start my November NewFO but I've been trying to finish up one or two bits before I create a new pile of fabric bits.

wOW, Barbara, your feathered friends' photos are awesome. I've never had the Flickers come to my feeders---and I've not seen the dark-eyed Junco before either. They are so beautiful. We have the black Juncos that come for the Winter---just saw my first one of the Season day before yesterday. :)

Great pics as always. Colder weather coming, the birds can tell.

Nice captures :)
Here, the house finches are so very common and they love to build nests under our patio roof. We had a clutch make it to maturity this year. All too often then jays raid the nest before they mature. Looking forward to seeing some of those juncos and some other south-bound birds down here in the coming weeks.

Love those bird images! The bird cam is working really well.

Looking forward to seeing your NewFO come together. I'm waiting on fabric before I can start mine. Hopefully by Monday, I'll be able to start in making blocks.

Sometimes the most simpliest quilts are just the greatest! Oh, my Hubs nickname in school was Flickr, since our his last name is Flick...so "we " made it on your blog today!!...heehee....such wonderful bird pics....I am thinking of getting my "flickr" one for Christmas since I have seen yours used....we don't have the variety but then maybe we do!! I know we have a blue bird and cardinal and finches each winter at our feeder....Hope you feel better...you are certainly challenging your limits and not letting your limits challenge you!!

I remember back in the olden days, always liking the look of Juncos. I still do! And love the polka dots on the Flickers. I'm so glad you got the bird cam arranged now! Thanks!!

I am getting a really good education about the birds in your area. Stunning markings on the Flicker male!
Hope the laundry was done quickly so that you could sew.

The photos from the bird cam are amazing. We have Flickers at our feeder, but it's really cool to see them so close up.
