Lots of Blocks

Click right here for my giveaway!!

Today I spent some time sewing together strip sets and blocks for the Good Morning quilt. This quilt has 35 blocks made up from 12 different color combinations. With so many color combinations, I decided I would make all the blocks before moving on to something else. I don't want to have to try to figure it all out again when I come back. When I left off yesterday, I'd completed the first color combination:

I was working on the second, and here it is:

Continuing on, here's the third:

Fourth:

The weather has been so cold that Smitty has been staying in. Very unusual for him, and I suspect he thinks his life is in ruins. He comes into the sewing room to do his kitty cocaine.

"Mmmmmmmmmm...nom, nom, nom. I loves me my catnip!"

Once he was satisfied with his catnip fix, I continued on with the fifth color combination:

Sixth:

I was about halfway done with the seventh when I quit for the day. Smitty was just waking up from his post-catnip nap.

And that's all I did for today. I was planning to make that cranberry pepper jelly, but then realized I didn't have everything I needed. When we're out visiting wineries tomorrow, we'll stop off at the grocery store so I can get the stuff I need. Then, Monday I'll have time to make the jelly and some cranberry chutney. I do love cranberries, and 'tis the season, after all.

How about you. Did you get any sewing done today?

The Good Morning blocks are beautiful. Love all the color combinations. It's a perfect quilt to work on for those gray days.

I washed the background fabric for the November NewFO and just finished pressing it all out. I've done just a bit of stitching this evening. We spent most of the day at Drama Teen's swim meet.

I always love your kitty photos, put a smile on my face. I was just at quilt inspiration and they had a gorgeous quilt done with a cat drinking out of a faucet.

I haven't touched a machine in 4 days. We are having cold and snow and winds - my furries are taking to their 'waiting at the window' winter positions.

I love your good morning blocks, great colour combinations. I haven't had a chance to touch my machine since Tuesday but I will get some sewing in today. I haven't been slacking however as I'm busy knitting a jumper for John and trying to finish this months stitchery.

Lovely blocks Barbara.

I have been working my way through the huge pile of ironing so that I can reward myself with sewing :)

Wow! It sure looks like you are nearly done with all the blocks. Smitty sure enjoyed his nip! I was lazy, I bought a can of Cranberry sauce. I know yours will taste better!

I like the way the blocks are coming together. It is a great scrap pattern. I looked to see if I still had that issue and I don't but hopefully I saved the pattern and it is in my binder.

I got some sewing done, but nearly as much as you! Your blocks are lovely. I got 3 small table runner tops done. I have eight to do for Christmas so I realized I had better get a move on! Love your Smitty comments!

Love the blocks and Smitty is his usual adorable self. He sure loves his nip. Picasso is driving us mad as he asks to be let out one moment and the next he's back wanting to come in again. He hates this cold damp weather and never knows what to do with himself.

Really pretty blocks. Funny I still have catnip growing even though we have been below freezing several times. The cats must be channeling their feline powers to keep it alive! LOL

That's going to be a really beautiful quilt. I've been cooking all morning and have lots less to show for it than you do -- shouldda sewn instead! :)

Your quilt will be beautiful with all of those lovely color combinations. I haven't done as much sewing as you, but did a little that I had to for other people. Your cranberry chutney sounds good. Have never had that before.

They are beautiful. I see that the large floral seems to be a focal fabric. Will it be in all of the color combinations?

These blocks are wonderful and seem to be growing very quickly. Shows that all the preparation is worthwhile.
Are you sure yo want to sew after a visit to the wineries? :)
