Sunday Miscellaneous

This is just a short update to cover a couple of little things. I spent the afternoon finishing up a wallhanging I'm making for a friend. This is the one I can't show you, but I have a good little peek for you. Hopefully, I'll be able to show you the whole thing a little later on in the week.

After yesterday's post about the new camper, a couple of you asked whether we would use the Catio with it.

The answer is yes! But the camper will be reserved for short weekend trips for the most part, and in that case, we would leave the kitties at home. The camper will be small for the two of us. Add two cats and their toys, food, and litter box to the mix, and it would make for crowded quarters. Still, we may take trips up to a week long, and in that case, we would take the kitties and all their luggage. When we looked at campers, one of the criteria was that it would have to be workable with the Catio, and it is. You can breathe a sigh of relief. Smitty and Gracie are, for sure.

Also, I said I was going to look up this unknown bird from the birdcam. Several of you were so smart, and correctly identified it as a Black-capped Chickadee. Some of you even live on the east coast!

I can only think that these little chickadees have a wide range. Just now I looked them up online and discovered they inhabit a good part of North America year-round!

And since I didn't get a picture of his pretty little face, here's one I took off the internet:

Maybe that's my cue to turn the camera onto the seed feeder for a change. The weather has been stormy the past few days, and so I'll wait until it's not so windy. Too much wind makes for lots of pictures of a feeder, but no birds. The weather is supposed to improve as the week goes along, but winter will be here in all its wetness soon enough, I fear.

Poor Mike has been sick in bed all day, and so things have been a little slow. There are still several days left in the month, and so tomorrow I'm going to get to work on some blocks. I think I'll start by catching up on my little Rainbow ladies since I haven't done any for September or October. Hopefully, I can finish those in a day, and then I'm going to get to work on the next Door of Ireland.

I hope your weekend was lovely.

I can imagine my cats in a trailer, they think anything with a rough surface is their personal scratch pad, lol.

From the glimpse of it, I love the wallhanging!

I didn't dare guess a chickadee because they are so common here and I figured if you had them, you would know them. They are feisty little birds, one of my favorites just for their sheer grit. I've seen them come right to the window screen to nab a spider.

What we can see of the gift quilt is is charming. Hoping to see it soon.

We actually have two kinds of chickadees here, the black-capped and the chestnut-backed. Both those and the red-breasted nuthatches regularly visit our suet seed feeder here near Puget Sound. (The nuthatches are my favorites!)

The fabric you have used in both parts of the project are lovely. I especially like the red. Do you know its name?
I have really enjoyed catching up on your bird life.

Girlfriend, I so love your blog posts. It's always a treat to me to have a little glimpse into your life and your sweet kitties. I have two, that have taken over my life, nearly.
The quilt shop was a great find and I enjoyed my 'visit' there. It worked great for my pitiful budget. The Quilters Retweet wall hanging will be perfect for you.
I wish we had a quilt shop in the neighborhood. We have Hobby Lobby and a fabric store with a very unfriendly staff. I really don't shop there too much just for that reason.
Well, my cat is pushing on my iPad, so I better pay attention now.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Cute red and white quilt for your suprise friend. I'm glad to hear that the kitties can go with you in your new camper should they want to. They wouldn't want to miss all the exciting places that you and Mike visit. Will be watching for more birds with the coming cooler weather in store. We get lots of cardinals and mockingbirds during the winter along with many others, but those really stand out.

The peek at the wall hanging you are making for a friend is really cute! Red is probably my favorite color & the little heart button is so sweet! Glad you found the camper that worked for you that was workable with the Catio for the kids. I just love the little chickadees! The Black-capped Chickadee has always been my favorite bird. Sorry Mike has been sick. Hope he gets better soon!

Yay for sneak peeks! I am enjoying expanding my avian education through your posts. I'm all about the animals. How cool that the catio fits too! It doesn't look like I'll be able to participate in the Newfo party this month. Unless I go start something right now!
