Two Tails on the Trail

My friend, Gracie and I went on a trip with my mom and dad. Yeah, we're trippin'. At first I thought my life had just taken a turn for the worse. It seemed like my life sucked in every way possible. But then I kind of got into the hang of this whole traveling thing. You know, I did some exploring and I kind of got the lay of the land, and now, things just don't seem too bad. We're visiting some really cool places, like Bliss, Idaho! Ever been to Bliss? I think they make catnip there.

Anyway, today I'm here to show you my digs for the next three weeks.

Come on. Follow me.

So, this here...this is where my mom keeps all kind of stuff. We gotta toasterrrrr, and a waffle iron, let's see...got some pots and pans...hm, what else? Let me just move this over here...oh yeah, some baking sheets and stuff.

Yeah, and this here dish drainer.

That's about all the stuff in there. Moving on, this here...this is where my stuff is. See all of this stuff down here? This is all mine and Gracie's. We've got dry cat food, kitty treats, canned cat food, toys, a brush, oh, and this flea treatment...stay away from that. That stuff is nasty. Got some toy mouses with their heads chewed off, got the heads too. Yep. This is my favorite cupboard in the whole trailer.

Sometimes my dad starts rooting around in there, and I have to keep things arranged propurrly, so I always help when he does that.

Okay, now this here...this is one of the coolest things in the whole trailer. This is my dinner dish. Yeah, Spiderman. Just sayin'...

Gracie and I have very discriminating palates. We don't eat out of one another's dish, and we don't mix our foods. Kitty treats go here...canned food in the Spiderman bowls...dry food in the dry food bowl. It's very important not to mix up one's cuisine. Oh yes, and I almost forgot. That one bowl there is our water dish. It has a lip so that we can have water when the trailer goes down the road, and it doesn't spill out on the floor. Kitties have to stay well hydrated at all times. Traveling is thirsty work, let me tell you.

Over here...these are my scratching toys. It's important to keep my claws sharpened like daggers. You just never know when a fly is going to get in, and then you have to spear it when your dagger-like claws.

And that reminds me....with all this down time, I've starting writing my novel. It's called "The Catcher in the Fly". I'm using a pen name of J. D. Smittinger, just to purrtect my purrivacy, you know. For inspiration, I just lay my tail across my Dad's shoe and tap into the power. Awesome.

Gracie, come out and show the peeps the trailer!

Back off, Man. I'm warning you.

Yeah, she pretty much stays between the bed and the wall. Sometimes she comes out, and then I plan my attack.

I see you there, Smitty. Don't even *think* about it. I will kick your tail up around your ears. Be cool, Man.

Just sit there beside me, and we'll look out the window.

My friend, Gracie is so smart.

But here...let me show you some other stuff. This next place here....this is where my mom keeps her towels, and her toothbrush and some other stuff. You know, cleaning stuff. You just never know when you're going to make a hork pie or something, and so my mom is always at the ready with cleaning stuff and towels. This is very impurrtant stuff in here.

There's some weirdness going on in here too, though, and I'm not really sure what to tell you about it. For one thing, look up here.

This thing here on the ceiling spins around and around, and I figure if I could just jump high enough, I could probably go for a ride on it, or use it as a launching pad for catching flies or something. But it has this menacing look. I'm still doing some research on this, and I'll have to get back to you.

And here's the other weird thing. The red dot came with us! Weird! And it goes right out onto the Catio with me, and it gets right on my paw, and I'm telling you! I have done hours and hours and hours of research about the red dot, and this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I think the CIA or the NSA or the FBI must have some role in this thing.

So that purretty much covers the whole trailer. I hope you have enjoyed this tour.

And now I have to get back to Woofie alert mode. Those wiley Woofies. Gotta watch out for those.

Sounds like you have everything you need there. I've never seen a trailer with a ceiling fan or catico. Very cool, or um, purrfect.

I'm pleased you and Gracie are getting into your travel grove. I love the idea of your novel but will you get time to write it with all the excitement of travelling? Great post Smitty.

I cannot imagine mine in a trailer, a house is not big enough for them, lol.

Be careful there Mr. Smit. That tail will end up getting stepped on if you keep putting it on feet.

I wondered what you did with the kitties while you were away. Should have known you wouldn't leave them behind! Safe travelling, all of you.

You are a great tour guide Smitty. The should hire you at the White House. No, scratch that...they have not one but two woofies there. Too bad though. I'm sure you'd have a blast checking out all the cool spots in that big place.
