Ha! Check it Out!

Well, I am so excited I'm just about to jump right out of my shoes...and that is saying something for these old bones, let me tell you. They posted the winners of the quilt competition for the Oregon State Fair this morning. Check this out!

Wahoo! Yippee! And other assorted yelping, screaming, and explosions. (I especially like the explosions. And the yelping.) My quilting buddy, Pat and I are headed to the fair this Wednesday. I was excited before, but now I'm positively over the moon!

This is for the You Are My Sunshine quilt, which was entered in the "Small/Crib Quilts" division, "combination of pieced and appliqued" lot, for quilters with 0-5 years of experience. Next year, I'll have to enter in the big girls/boys division for quilters with more than 5 years of experience.

Just got back from the state fair and I saw your quilt in the corner,on the back wall with a beautiful red ribbon! (At end of the first wall where you enter to do The Viewing!) Actually stopped to tell my daughter about the process you went through to make the quilt, and then entering it in the state fair. After I finished telling her about your quilt, she asked me how come she hadn't ever heard about you before, that's when I told tell her that I follow your blog! Hah! She thought I was talking about one of my quilting buds here in Oregon City!
Congratulations to you!!! I could't be prouder of a friend I have not met yet!

Woo HOOOOOOOOOO Mz Barbara !!! CONGRATS. Happy Dance for you, it is so beautiful too.

now the knee-take care, I got shot once with cortizone and I need it almost 10 years later. It really helps. another friend in Ohio just had it done and she is walking 2.2. miles a day on purpose. I am so proud of you, let me know 9/6 what this one says. Always get another opinion!

kc said...

Whoohoooo! Way to go! Glad to see the judges are paying attention!! Congratulations!

Good going, too, on the courage to seek another opinion on the ole knee problem. Kindness counts, and if you're just a chart (or a missing MRI), you can bet you won't ever feel comfortable asking questions. I got so frustrated with my first pain mgmt doc - they mailed me a 6 page history survey, then called me to ask the same questions (and, yeah, I only have a cell phone, so at the time, that long-a$$ call cost me a lotta minutes), then when I got there, after waiting 3 hours - YES, THREE HOURS - they asked me all the same questions AGAIN. You can bet I had some choice words for their policies and practices. And then I asked my GP for a referral to another pain mgmt clinic. Soooo glad I did that! Good luck - keep us posted, 'cuz you know we care!!
