Finally!!!!!

Oh. My. Goodness.  I am so excited.  Today, I received this notification in my email:

Holy smokes!  I have been waiting for this since Linda G. told me about it way back in January!  It seems it took the designer a long time to produce the fabrics.  Or the pattern.  Or something.  It was a case of advertising it before it was really ready for prime time.  Have you seen the Wind in the Whiskers quilt?

Is that not the cutest quilt EVER??!! This is a McKenna Ryan pattern.  I love her patterns, but this will be the first one I've made.  The BOM comes with fabrics, and I've ordered the embellishment packet as well.  I believe the first block will be the center one with the laundry.  It's called "Laundry Day" so that makes sense to me.  (Doh!  I'm real smart that way!)

So aside from baking a peach pie, I haven't done a darned thing today except to harvest some tomatoes and play "Horns of Doom" with Smitty.  Yes. Horns of Doom.  It's a game where I put my index fingers up by my ears like horns and then chase him around making a sort of Tssssssst! sound.  He loves it.  And I feel terribly mature and ever-so-cultured doing it.  Yes.  Life with cats.  It reduces one to one's lowest common denominator.

And since I've worked my little tail feathers off today doing nothing but baking and playing Horns of Doom, I think I'll take a nap.  Some days are like that.

Ha ha ha. I love the thought of playing you and smitty playing horns of doom. Scamp, Picasso and I play grrrr. I chase Scamp round the room whilst grring at him. He then chases me and Picasso starts off by sitting and watching as if he's bored but then he joins in with kitty grrs and he and Scamp then chase each other all over the house for the next half an hour. Great on wet days.

That quilt is just so cute. How comes you find all the best patterns?

This is gorgeous. I wish I found more pleasure in applique.
Today was a very good day for nap--although mine wasn't intentional, just happened!

I am jealous, I love that pattern and love a lot of her patterns. I wanted to get something from her line in a small version to try but of course, there were none that I liked at any of the stores i went to.

I have been looking at that quilt trying to figure out how to get time to make it. Will be fun to see how it pieces together as you share your progress.

I love that quilt. all the BOMs I have seen have laser cut applique and they want an arm and a leg for them every month!

Cute quilt-will be adorable when you finish it with your personal style ~! I wish CatCAt would play with me, she never has been a playful girl and now she's showing her age in her thinness and slowed down self.

I napped with my Burp, he's eight months old today. Oh Barb, is there anything sweeter than napping with a baby ?~!

Gorgeous quilt Barbara, a real antidote to all that maleness in Vintage Tin :)

That's a wonderful quilt Barbara. Can't you adapt it so you can appear on it playing horns of doom? There's just enough space for your head to poke out from behind the quilt on the line.

Darling quilt. I'm excited for you. Horns of Doom! That's great. I don't have a name for the games I play with Minnie but if I were to give it one it would be "Squirrel" or, "Let's Hunt for Frogs" or, "Gut the Toy". My life is so exciting.

That's the quilt that made me think of you, I'm so glad it's finally coming. I hope you'll start it soon, I want to see how hard it is. I have one of her patterns and I'm completely intimidated by it. Lead the way.

This quilt is so you! And I can see you running around with 'horns' playing with Smitty. Naps, yes, I too find them a need of the day on some days.

McKenna Ryan designs beautiful quilts. I have a small design of hers I never made yet. But I love your new one with the cats and outdoor scene. Looking forward to seeing yours finished.

Oooh... I can't wait to follow along and enjoy yours! I need years of applique practice before I tackle one of her works of art.

that quilt looks like a ton of work! I am so excited that I get to share in your making it because I would never get it done myself LOL... great pick!

That quilt IS adorable, and so very much YOU. (and Smitty) I can't wait to see what you do with it and how you make it so very special.

Devil horns - HA! I had to laugh out loud at the thought of that. Takes so little to entertain our furry friends, no? I can throw a squeak for hours, and puppy will faithfully go get it & bring it back to have it thrown again. Until all of a sudden, she'll run past me and go lay down under the serger desk (where I can't get to her). Too much fun!

Looks like a fun quilt to make. It will fit in nicely with the rest of your collection.

I'm sure Smitty loves you even more because you are so willing to engage in such sophisticated play with him.
