Cats are Finished

Yep.  The end of cats.  Believe me?  Well, okay.  The cats quilt is finished.  I didn't expect to do it all in one sitting, but there you go.  I'm nothing if not compulsive.  So here it is:

Um, do you mind?  Excuse me.

Okay, here it is.  Love Me, Love My Cat:

Even the hanging sleeve on the back is stitched down.

If you want to see the individual blocks, you can see them right here.

This quilt went with me to Ireland.  That's right.  I made up two blocks when I went to the International Quilt Festival of Ireland last year, and I worked on them during down time and on the flights to and fro.  The first block was started on June 3, 2012, and now, a little over a year later, it is finished. Mike is going to cut a dowel rod for me, and then I will be hanging it in the first wall of cats in one of my two stairwells.  As I've mentioned before, I'm lining the walls of my two stairwells (thus, four walls) with nothing but cat quilts.  This one will fill in the last space on the first wall.  Once it's hung, I'll try to take a picture of the wall, but being in the stairwell, it's pretty hard to take a good one.  Stay tuned.

So whaddaya say?

Also, I'm linking this post to Slow Sunday Stitching at Kathy's Quilts.
And, I'm updating this post to say that I'm linking my finish to:
But that's not the only cat-related news I have for you.  Did you know the Pets on Quilts quilt show is right around the corner?  And now, there's a shiny new button for it.  Head on over to Lily Pad Quilting to get your very own.

And now, since I've totally neglected my housework all week while I quilted the Love Me, Love My Cats quilt, I guess that's what's next on my agenda.  Hopefully, I'll get a chance to do some work on my June NewFO project sometime today.

I love it. I was glad you showed how you quilted it too. I always have a hard time deciding how to quilt the embroidered quilts. Yours turned out great.

Congrats on the finish. The white buttons on the binding give it a lacy look, very cool.

Good excuse to neglect the housework. My excuse is that the vacuum is busted, and hubby hasn't had time to check it out yet. Great quilt!
