Long Weekend

This will be my last post for the long weekend.  As I said in my post earlier today, we're heading out to The Palouse in Eastern Washington to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary over the weekend.  I will probably post a few pictures along the way using the Blogger app, which is a lot like Instagram, only it posts directly to my blog.  I'll tell you all about our trip when I get home.

For today's sewing, I finished up the May block for the Hello Moon QAL.

Here are all the blocks I have so far:

These are such fun to make.

Then, I decided to make my block for the Block Lotto for May.  It's a triple flying geese block.  The goal was to use a cream solid or tone on tone for the sky, and then three different values of the same color for the geese.  This is what I came up with.  The block is 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches unfinished.  I can see a group of these blocks making a great quilt.

And that's all I did today.  It was sort of a lazy day since the muscle spasm in my shoulder has returned.  I may need to see my massage therapist to get rid of it completely.  It's the rhomboid muscle that lives between your shoulder blade and your spine.

The red one in the diagram above.  It's such a bummer when it flares up because I can't look up or turn my head without pain.  Hopefully, I can get it settled down enough that it won't interfere with my enjoyment of the weekend.  It is feeling better since giving it some more TLC this afternoon.  It does put a crimp in my sewing style, however.

So that's it from me.  I hope you enjoy your weekend.  My plan is to enjoy mine, and I'll check in with you when I get back with all the news that's fit to print along with hundreds of photographs, I'm sure.

I have a spot a little lower that hurts when I do certain thing. I've been taking a calcium, magnesium & D3 supplement before bed several times a week and it seems to be helping. Helps me sleep better too, which is good! Have a great trip, the area looks beautiful.

Looking at the reports of the bridge collapse....hope you and Mike are safe, and that you haven't had to make a long detour. Take care!

Barb, when you originally mentioned the location of that pain, my first thought was that damn rhomboid muscle. Hard to access, when it gets irritated it can cause pain that even a four decade chronic pain patient like myself can be brought to my knees with its agony. I am so very sorry you have to deal with this. I sincerely hope it recovers and settles WAY down before you get it into an irritable state again. Re-aggravating it is even worse. (says experience)

Lovely trip you have planned; do have a great weekend. Happy 38th to you and Mike. Many more to follow...

Those Hello Moon blocks are so much fun. That background fabric works really well with those motifs. Hope you really enjoyed your trip. Oh, Happy Anniversary!
