BOMS Away

Today I didn't do much else but work on finishing up this January block for the Folk Art Cats quilt.  I still had the checkerboard border to finish and the little swirl applique piece at the top.

And I'm just in time to link up to:

I took the week off from Curves last week, and so I have to get back to it in the coming week.  It was good to give my knees a break; but honestly, I needed a break from it too.  Besides, it was a busy week, and I needed the time as much as I needed the break.  So in addition to going to Curves tomorrow, I need to go to the grocery store.  If I have time, I'm going to start on the next Doors of Ireland block.  This time, I'm going to do this door:

I wouldn't think it would be too hard, but we'll see.  I haven't looked at my fabrics yet.  I think I'll use a brick background and work out from there.  Also, I think I'll try to applique some terra cotta pots to the right of the door to add some interest.

From there, it'll be the beginning of May, and it'll be time to review my goals from last month and set new ones for May.  More on that later.

We had a relaxing, but productive weekend.  I hope yours was enjoyable as well.

Love the cat block - actually several blocks within a block isn't it!! Hmm, the next door looks like fun, yes, it needs a little 'dress-up' to it.

How funny, I have been thinking about your Doors of Ireland blocks - I think because of the "Murder She Wrote" movie set in Ireland that I watched with my friend yesterday! lol

Is that door part of a house that someone is living in?

Doors of Ireland sounds like a very interesting project. Looking forward to seeing more. Sometimes it does you good to take a break from the exercise....give your body time to heal.

Barbara, I love your cat block and I'm so intrigued by your "doors of Ireland" project. I took photographs of so many interesting doors when I was in Paris last year, and I was thinking of doing something quilty with them. So I'm really interested to see what you're up to with your doors. Please post photos in our 7 Series group!
