Today I met up with Quilting Babcia for lunch and then we went to the Piecemakers Guild meeting. There was an interesting speaker who talked about signature quilts. She had some beautiful quilts she showed off, some of them dating back to the 19th Century. Very interesting and informative. I don't know why I didn't think to take any pictures, but I did not. Quilting Babcia was taking some though. She might post some pictures on her blog. If she doesn't, you can complain to her about it. (Always there for you, my friend.)
This morning I put dinner in the crockpot since I was gone from home for most of the day. Tonight, Matthew came by so that he and Mike could work on putting the finishing touches on his senior project for school.
As you'll recall, he's building an electronic poi ball. You can read about his project on my previous post. He picked up the circuit boards today. They are about 2-1/2 inches square. (Have you noticed how being a quilter has improved your ability to estimate sizes of things?)
And just so you know he isn't kidding around about designing the boards himself...

But here's what you really want to see. Video of the lights changing as the position of the board changes. It isn't finished yet. The next time you see it, it will be in a poi ball housing of some sort. This is just the bare light. What you'll be seeing is a single LED changing colors as he rotates the board.
Pretty cool, huh?
Since I can't exercise for a week, I have an unexpected free day at home tomorrow, and I intend to get back into the sewing room.

What year of Engineering is your son doing? I have had an engineering night here too. My Engineering hubby was tutoring my first year Engineering daughter. Goes in one ear and out the other for me!

It is good to spend a day on the couch. That is where I stayed on SUnday. After walking the quilt show for 6 or 7 hours two days in a row, I could not stand to put any weight on my feet!

Some times you need to just sit and be. I'm sorry you were so uncomfortable. It's nice sometimes to just go and enjoy something, without taking tons of pictures. Reading about Matthew's project has been quite educational. Wishing him all the best on this project!

Baby loving all day, early to bed for a 530 wake-up to help with my 9-yr old buddy, normally a Thursday event. In between a bit of workspace organization & sorting.
Hope your nose starts to feel better. Its rough not thinking about it since it is right there on your face! The light project looks very cool. I hope he does great with the project.
Love Matthew's project. It's amazing what you can do with electronics and LEDs these days. Drama Teen finished up this year's science fair stuff last year. She's decided that she needs to step up her game as she didn't place at state again this year. I'm not sure I'll ever get my kitchen table back, well at least not till she goes off to college.
