52 Photos Project: Hearts

The prompt for this week's 52 Photos Project is "Hearts".  Here's my image:

When our friends, Jan and Greg, purchased ten acres of property toward the Oregon coast, they had a lot of work to do to turn it into a home.  For one thing, the property had to be cleared of the dreaded Oregon Blackberry and Scotch Broom.  They also had to create a pad for their manufactured home, which involved wiring, plumbing, directing water from the river nearby, and other major tasks too numerous to mention.  We visited them early on and I went around with my camera finding the diamond in the rough.  I spied this heart on a stepping stone hand made by Jan's deceased mother.  Eventually, I made a photo book out of my images as a house-warming gift to them.  This image was the cover image.  The book was entitled, "Home is Where the Heart Is".

Bummer! So sorry. Just when you don't have a bunch of bindings to hand stitch..or a few quilts to sandwich. Well, those tomatoes will look fantastic later in the year for the efforts that you take now.

A very special gift indeed! Such photos/subjects are overlooked by those in the midst of the chaos and those are the memories to be cherished later. Thoughtful of you to seize the moment so creatively! Blessings, Doreen

What a wonderful story. Those photo books do make great gifts, especially if the book tells a story and even more if they couldn't have taken the photos themselves.

I love creating photo books and this is such a wonderful idea for a gift. I am also a keen heart hunter so love the idea of a heart-stamped stepping stone. Your book title was perfect.
