I love all these bright colors. Now that I see them laid out like this, I've kind of decided to bag the idea of adding any kind of sashing. I'll save those cut-off triangles for another project. I'm still going to add a 4-5 inch border around this, which will make the quilt about 45 inches wide and around 58 inches long...a good lap sized quilt, and about as large as I want to attempt to quilt on my domestic sewing machine. For now, however, I'm going to put these aside and finish the quilt top next time around.
It has been quite cold here for weeks. There has been ice on the ground the entire time. Today while I was sewing, a light rain started to fall. When I looked out, it was starting to look like the beginnings of an ice storm.
Generally when it starts to rain, the temperatures warm up. Nevertheless, the sun is setting and it is still 32°F. Things could get interesting if it doesn't warm up over night.

What a cute quilt :)
Way too cute!!
I love the sunshine centers and the layout. The sashing and hourglass blocks will be great in another quilt!
I hope you do not have a major ice storm!
How cute is that?!? That is just a fun quilt, from start to finish :*) Take care and keep warm.... try to find a quilt or two if you can to wrap up in and stay warm =^..^=
Well since my first reaction to the sun quilt was "cute" and everyone else said it, I'm going to say "adorable".... LOL It really is a fun and happy looking quilt with all the bright colors and fun blocks.
Oh yes, I do like the secondary pattern the stars make without the sashing. Another fine job!
I love the blocks! It's going to be such a cute quilt!
Love the bright colors and how fun it looks! Happy sewing or quilting and do stay warm -- Looks like a nasty ice storm!

The quilt made me smile, it's adorable.
Such a cute quilt. I like it without sashing - it really ties it together better.
Absolutely love the quilt - very bright and fun! Wish we were at 32 degrees - we are at 3. ~Jeanne
I'm not usually drawn to bright colors in my own quilts, but that is just the cutest quilt, love the sun fabric and how the sun is peeking out in each block center. Smile the day away :)
Barbara that quilt top is delightful. I'm pleased you have decided to leave out sashing as it makes such a lovely pattern without it and I love the bright colours.
Those bright stars really highlight the blocks. It's going to be such a bright and fun quilt!
It looks good! I look forward to sizing the border you choose!
Brrrrr!
