52 Photos Project: Wide Open Spaces

The prompt for this week's 52 Photos Project is "Wide Open Spaces".  Here's my entry:

This image was taken from Steptoe Butte overlooking the area in Eastern Washington known as The Palouse.  The Palouse is a huge agricultural area noted for growing mainly wheat and legumes.  We went through there in September, shortly after the harvest.  It was incredibly beautiful in its browns and golds.  Now we want to make a trip earlier in the spring to see it in shades of green.

To see more wide open spaces, visit the gallery.

That definitely looks like a wide open space! The wide open space concerning me at the moment is the open basting pin that I just stepped on!

I showed an image from the American West too (though I live in NOT wide-open NYC). Yours is gorgeous!

That is beautiful. WE will be seeing more wide open spaces after July when My son moves back to El Paso!

I love that photo. The close to far, the textured to disappearing into the distance, everything about it is just wonderful.

You can go to the Palouse weekly and it will look different each time. It is one of the most amazing places. My daughter has lived in the Palouse for almost 12 years now and I love the drive though I wish it was shorter!

Putting Palouse on the travel list! Thank you!

I thought it looked like Australia, wheat stubble. I live in a rural area where my Dad is a farmer who crops wheat, barley and legumes. This looks like December here, just after harvests finished.
