More Cats

This morning, I sat and finished up the 7th of 8 blocks for the Love Me, Love My Cat quilt.  These blocks are so much fun to work on, and they always seem perfectly appropriate for whatever is happening here in Cat Land.  Sometime during January, I plan to make the four sawtooth stars that are a part of this quilt.  I still have one more stitchery, but this quilt is coming down the home stretch.

My next sewing room project is to start on the 4th door for the Doors of Ireland quilt.  Here is the next door I'm planning to do.  (Did someone declare today red and white day?)

I have a few errands to run this morning, but then I'm hoping I'll have some time to sew.

Tomorrow will be a cooking day.  The kids are coming up to spend the afternoon on New Year's Day.  We'll be having a spiral sliced ham, maple baked beans made from scratch, dill potato salad (possibly the best potato salad ever!), and a 7-layer salad, which is Erik's favorite.  Also, I'm making Mike's favorite Bailey's [Irish Cream] Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.  It'll mean a lot of cooking tomorrow, but on New Year's Day, it will all be done except to warm up the ham.  That's my kind of dinner for family gatherings.  As for New Year's Eve, I don't think we've made it to midnight for at least a decade.

Do you have plans for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day?

And I'm linking this post to Slow Stitching Sunday at Kathy's Quilts.

That is another cute block. I can not get into handwork like I use to!

Love the kittens, so very cute. Looking forward to seeing your interpretation of the 4th doorway. Have fun playing in the sewing room.

I made your gingerbread biscotti, and they were delicious .... so I'd be really happy if you'd share the recipe for the world's best potato salad too :)
Happy New Year!

Cute stitchery!
I have no plans for today or tomorrow, just gonna play it by ear. The food sounds yummy - as usual!

You made me smile thinking that you haven't made it to midnight for a decade!

Christmas leftovers (we only celebrated on 29th) for NYE, and, for new Years' Day, ham, prawns (shrimps), coleslaw, potato salad, rice salad and garden salad, followed by a choice of orange cheesecake, pavlova, fruit mince tarts or Christmas pudding with custard or cream! The temperature outside was 39*C (102*F)!
