Finished!

Look for the November NewFO Linky Party and Giveaway right here.

This evening I finished hand sewing the binding for the Bow Tie Bonanza quilt.

Wanna see it?

Sorry about the terrible lighting.  If I wait until I can take it outside in the sunshine, it might be May of next year before you see it.

Here's a closer shot of the quilting from the top:

Here's how it looks from the back:

I'm glad to have it finished.  I'll be snuggling up under it in the mornings while I do my embroidery.  I am grateful to the members of the We Bee Learning Block Bee for their hard work on the blocks for this quilt.  They did a good job, don't you think?

And now, wanna see what a bad cat looks like?  (Warning:  Rodents ahead.)

Yes, that is our family room carpet.  Yes, it's the latest of Smitty's gifts.  I blurred it so you wouldn't have to see what I saw.  That's our Schmidthead. What a guy.

Your bowtie quilt turned out great - I love the orange binding with it.
And LOL on Smitty - he loves you!

He projects an aura of confidence and accomplishment. Sort of a "where's my medal?" look.

Aww, Smitty just wanted to congratulate you on your finish in the best way he knows how! I once had a phone interview for a job and our cat was chasing a mole through the living room ... The new back door does not include a kitty door.

The bow-tie quilt turned out great, BTW!

Love the quilt! Not loving that 'present' from Smitty so much. Is that a normal-sized rodent? Seems large to me!

That quilt is beautiful. What a hard working cat you have. I bet he's like ours and catches them outside and brings them in as proof of his hard work and dedication to duty.

Love your bow-tie quilt - I know how long that straight line quilting takes!! And my sweet Bella brings me mice and Moe brings me birds - double whammie!

The orange binding really sets it off! My little one brought a mouse to me last night but fortunately it was A) dead and b) outside. At least he wasn't eating it on your carpet, that would be terrible.

Lucky you. A finished quilt and gifts from your favorite hairball. Life is never dull with our fur children. Love your quilt, by the way.

Hooray!!! Great job and a great finish! I know how good it feels to get one quilted and really, truly DONE! I need to put a schedule in place next year to help me get some of mine done too :*)

And as for Mr. Schmidthead..... even when he's bad he's good! :#D

Orange is just the best color for the binding on this quilt. It really sets off the whole quilt. I really love it. And yep, kitties will do things like that - what a good little mouser!

Very pretty! Congrats on the finish.

Poor Smitty, he thinks he's done so well.

I love how the quilt turned out! That binding just adds some extra pop to it! I guess at least Smitty is bringing you the whole mouse and you're not getting the regurgitated version in the house. Bob used to leave the carcasses outside then barf up the insides in the house. He's still missing and I'd actually love to see regurgitated mouse bits, if it meant he were home.

Years ago, when I was just learning how to quilt, I made a bow tie quilt for my inlaws. I'd never heard of y seams, but, I figured them out. If I'd known that y seams were difficult, I never would have made the quilt. Stupidity can be freeing sometimes. Lovely quilt and colors you chose. BAD Smitty! NOT on the new carpet!!!!
