Christmas Cats

Our weather has gone from lovely snow delight to nasty blowing rain.  Matthew will be with us another day or two, but then he'll be heading back to Klamath Falls to pack up his belongings for his move back to Portland.  It will be wonderful having my whole family close again.

Today we futzed around much of the day because the weather was too crappy to do anything else.  We managed to get all the Christmas presents wrapped which was the last dreaded Christmas thing to do.  And let me tell you, we had more help than you can shake a stick at.  And even when we shook a stick at it, we still had more help than we could use.

Can you see the devil in his eyes?

I'm still planning to do some baking this coming week, but I enjoy that.

The rest of the day was spent working on the next cat for the Folk Art Cats quilt.  I've been excited to start on this one.  It's a Santa cat.

I'm only about half finished with the top-stitching, and I'll be adding a few embellishments.  Also, I'm using this project to write my tutorial about fusible applique for the Quilting Secrets Blog Hop.

My tutorial will post on January 2nd, and so you'll be seeing this one up close and real personal then.  Also, I found the perfect fabric for the back of this quilt, and so I have it on order.  It's Laurel Burch's Fantasy Felines.

While I worked on that, Gracie and Smitty hung out in the opium catnip den of iniquity.

Gracie took time out every now and then to give Smitty the evil eye.  They are playing much more frequently however, and so it can't be all that bad for her.  I do think she's annoyed that Smitty dumped all the catnip onto the floor though.  Now there's none left to sprinkle on her bed in the sewing room.

How did your weekend go?

We are getting rain, no snow for us.
The santa is a fun block and I can wait to see your whole quilt done.

How I (and the garden) envy you. It just hit 30.5 degrees centigrade here so I'd welcome some rain/snow/sleet! Having said that, the forecast for the rest of the week is more yo-yo-ing of the temp guage before a predicted 30 on Friday WITH rain! Gosh Gracie is pretty, such a cute wee face.

Sorry you now have the awful rain and not the wonderful snow. We have had rain here in So. Calif. and we needed it greatly. I love hearing about Smitty and Gracie, I love both of them to pieces. Love your Santa Cat block, looking forward to seeing the whole quilt. It's going to be a show stopper. Have a peaceful week.

You can definitely see the devilment in his eyes -- but he has such a striking, handsome face, the devilment is forgivable. Of course, I don't have to live with him! It's rain-rain-raining here...but they're hinting at the possibility of snow for Tuesday! I'll believe it when I see it! (It's Alabama, after all!) :)

We had snow/rain/wind - so kitties were in and into trouble - So I put them into a stupor with some catnip fun. After the antics, it was a long slumber so I could get things done.

What a beauty! We had rain, now the heat is on again until Friday. Then, back down in the 30's again. Roller coaster is putting it lightly. My poor rose bush is sooo confused! Thanks for visiting!

It was cool and windy here today. I did get the mailing labels printed for the Christmas cards and some wrapping done. Still a lot to do before the holiday gets here.

Our little rain is gone. Not enough to matter. We will probably be on water rationing, Again, soon. When I wrap packages, I give Angel and Kirby tissue paper to play with! It keeps them entertained and out of the way. Only problem, I cannot put any tissue paper in the tops of my bags till I am ready to deliver them!

Hint: Mousies in Smitty's stocking and catnip in Gracie's. You'll have two happy cats.

Hi, Barbara ! I have a question. Do you use an IPhone or IPad to blog? If so, what App do you use? I remember you blogging from Ireland. I have problems getting a post done when I travel. Was hoping that you might have some insights. Thanks so much!
