Sunday Sewing and Stash Report

Looking for the October Linky Party?  Click here.

Today I'm working on my monthly swaps.  I started with a block for my partner in the Block Swap Adventure.

Since I don't think my partner reads my blog, it's probably okay to show it to you.  She didn't give me much to go with, saying "Any block is good with me".  She said she liked pink, green, dachshunds, and flamingos.  (No cats, bummer.)  Nevertheless, I actually do have some flamingo fabric.  This is the first fabric I purchased when I started building my stash.  I used a block from Quilter's Cache known as Patience Corners, which is kind of a cool block.  I could see this in a whole quilt.  Here's what I came up with:

Next, I decided to work on the bee block for the November We Bee Learning block bee.

This month's requested block was any star in yellows with a gray background.  I decided on a Sawtooth Star, which is one of my favorite star blocks.  Here's what I came up with for that.

Finally, I completed the doll quilt that I made for my partner in the November Doll Quilt Swap.

 Doll Quilters

And since I know my partner reads my blog, I can't show it to you.  You'll have to be content with the sneak peek that the doll quilters get on the Doll Quilters Monthly blog.  And if you don't think I am itching to show you the whole thing, then you overestimate my ability to delay gratitude.

Hopefully, she'll have it later this week, and I'll be able to show you the whole thing.  Until then, you'll have to be satisfied sitting on pins and needles, just like me.  And I feel certain that you'll be lying awake at night wondering what it could possibly be.  Not.

So that's it for me today.  I guess I'll tell you my stash report, which isn't too bad.  Nothing in this week.

Fabric Used:  3 3/4 yards
Fabric Used in 2012: 122 1/4 yards

Fabric Purchased: Nada
Total Fabric Purchased in 2012:  136 3/4 yards

Net Stashed in 2012:  14 1/2 yards

Did you do any sewing today?

Darn! I'm not liking this pins and needles business at all - they're pretty uncomfortable! Your swap blocks are all so different, so I suppose it keeps the interest level up. From cute whimsical flamingos to flaming stars to fall mysteries... I'm glad you had fun! Great job on the stash too.

Nice job on your swap blocks. I need to get to work on a swap that I joined too, and NOT WAIT until the last minute...my bad habit.

On another subject entirely, Does Gracie know how much Smitty looks like her ?~! Their faces are so similar it's uncanny in these pics on your sidebar. Maybe it's a trick of the light.

Got your button on my blog. Thanks so much for the help.

The Flamingo block is adorable and I really like the Sawtooth square. The yellow really pops against the gray.
