52 Photos Project: Golden


This week's prompt is "Golden".  Here's my entry:


This image is from Death Valley National Park in southern California.  It was taken when we hiked in Golden Canyon.  From this vantage point, we could also see Zabriskie Point, which is one of the most photographed placed in Death Valley.  On the Golden Canyon hike, we were also treated to abandoned mine shafts from Death Valley's borax mining past.

Perfect for this prompt. Makes me wish, even more than I already did, that I were home in the SW deserts! The contrast with the blue sky and the distant peaks is wonderful.
