Mail Call

Yesterday's mail brought all kinds of surprises.  I received a block from my partner, Laurrie, in the Block Swap Adventure.

This is my 6th block in this series.  When I have 12, I'm going to make a quilt from them.

Then I received some lovely items from Kate at Life in Pieces.  I was one of the winners of her 500th Post Giveaway.  First, I won this gorgeous Christmas panel.  This is pretty enough to put a backing on it and just quilt over the design of the fabric for a nice Christmas wall hanging.  I'm thinking I'll probably put some blocks around the outside as a border.  The mind reels with possibilities for this.

Also, Kate included some sweet note cards along with the other gifts.  Aren't these pretty? Right away, I suspected they were from Kate's beautiful photography archives, and so I flipped them over.

And look at this little logo!  "Cards by Kate".  How special!  I love this.

She also sent me a nice card with a personal note inside along with these great tweezers.  I saw these in a quilt shop the other day, and I almost bought one for myself.  Aren't they cute?  I love having tweezers next to my sewing machine.  I use them for all sorts of things. And since I have arthritis in the index finger of my dominant hand, they really come in handy when I'm trying to grab something small.  They're also really handy for placing small applique pieces.  Having a second set will really come in handy since my current ones are always ending up across the room from me when I want them.

Thank you so much for all these great prizes, Kate.  I'm so happy to be one of your followers.

Great prizes & squishies! Kate really shared the love in her gifts :*) I love the tweezers! Will be keeping my eye out for a pair of those for my travel tools. Like you, I seem to use tweezers almost every day for one thing or another in the sewing area.

Lots of wonderful goodies and I enjoyed seeing the photos of your plants and the kitties. It is frustrating trying to get a nice sharp photo of things that are far away. I usually find the half way point is as far as you can get and stay sharp.

Love the new swap block. The red and white just looks so crisp.

Hope you find something fun to do with the panel. I'm glad that the tweezers will be useful and that you like the cards. Thanks for following my rants and ravings.

Wow! The bob cat photo is amazing. Now wonder Smitty and Gracie can't be left outside by themselves. Smitty climbing up the tree is really cute. I've only seen artichokes in the grocery store so I had no idea how pretty they could be. Thanks for all of the great photos.

Love that note pad. I have a pair of those fun tweezers, but, mine don't have the bent end on them. I've not seen those. They would be great to keep by the machine.
