A Finish

It seemed as if the day flew by today.  Here it is dinner time, and I feel as if I just woke up.  At some point during the day, I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got dressed.  (I knew you'd want to know that.)  Still, I feel as if I'm barely out of my pajamas, and it's getting close to time to be back in them.

Today, I managed to get three more quarts of Chunky Basil Pasta Sauce out of my tomatoes.

If I can get three more quarts (one more batch), I'll have enough to get us through the winter.  Then I'll set my sites on salsa.  The last time I made salsa, it was so hot, it just about blew our heads off.  This time, I'll choose a more sedate recipe.  I like a little kick, but it's nice if it doesn't make your tongue go numb.

Making pasta sauce doesn't require much babysitting once the tomatoes are peeled and chopped.  Then it's a matter of cooking it down and processing, which gives me plenty of time to do other things.  Today I used the time to finish the binding on my Daisies & Dots quilt, and that makes this a big finish.

Here's how it looks from the back.

And here's the label I made for it.  It's going to my cousin, Ruthie.

I love this quilt, and it's hard to give it up.  Ruthie will give it a good home, and I know she will love it.  What could be better than that?

So...

Oh, and want to see what trouble looks like?

That's my Smitty.  Such a love...and a heap of trouble all mixed into one little rocket-powered package.

Oh, I would have trouble giving that quilt away myself - just gorgeous. And if you feel the urge to give away Smitty, I'll take him. What a sweetie!

Your pictures always make me wish that we had a garden. I am finally at a point in my life where I would like one again but since we may be moving in the spring, not much sense in tilling up a spot this year. I love this quilt. Did you design the pattern yourself or is the one that you found? It is so very adorable and looks so comfy.

I'm drooling over the picture of the sauce! Yum! Oh, wait, you showed a pretty quilt, too....I was distracted! LOL (It truly is gorgeous!) Oh, I want to snuggle Smitty! But he probably would rocket away to play some more!

Gorgeous quilt and of course I love seeing Smitty. One of our cats (they're almost 1 year old) loves to play fetch. She brings us her favorite soft ball and talks until we throw it. She will do this about 12 times and then gets distracted or tired.

The quilt came out fantastic! Not that there were any doubts! I love the quilting - did you do it yourself? My memory is not so great these past few weeks, so I don't remember if you did it or not. Give that adorable little brat a chin scratch for me!

Except for Smitty, this is a pretty color coordinated post! Your cousin will be over the moon when she gets that package & the label is just perfect.

Yummy, beautiful, fun - great combo!

Beautiful quilt. Thanks for the pasta sauce recipe. Try banana peppers in the salsa. Enough of them will give a bite, but not bite your head off. =)

Congrats on the finish. Daises and Dots turned out beautifully.

Your little trouble maker looks a lot like a little angel in that shot.
