Remains of the Day

Today I finished top-stitching the last of the butterflies for the Butterfly Garden doll quilt I've been working on.

These became a little easier the more I did, and I think I like this one the best of the three butterflies.

Now the quilt is ready to be quilted.

I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with that, but I'm considering using the same heart-leaf meander that I did in the first of the free motion quilting challenges.

For sure I'll outline each of the butterflies before I start, then meander in the green sections somehow, and then do a butterfly motif in the border.  I'm still not sure of any of that.  In fact, I probably won't know until I start doing it and see what comes out of my needle.

Now I'm hitting the shower.  Mike is taking me out to dinner for my birthday.

The butterfiles look marvelous! Have a very happy birthday dinner. Hope Mike is springing for cake (or at least the dessert of your choice).

I like what you did on the butterflies. I usually have to ponder the quilting for a few days. Bigger projects I generally come up with a design as I'm pin basting. Enjoy your evening.

Your stitching is wonderful, really nice with the light colors and perfect for spring. I hope you have a wonderful time with your husband for your birthday.

I like the idea of the leaf meander quilting to go with the butterflies and outdoors. Hope you had an enjoyable dinner for your birthday. I think my husband knew it was your birthday because he took me out to dinner too =^..^=

Really coming along wonderfully! I just love the kelly greens (and the others) with the butterflies. I think the heart/leaf meandering would look nice! Hope your B day dinner was delightful!
